Superhero Profiles

The Superheroes Flashback to December.06

by Grace on January 2nd, 2007

It’s that time of the month again where we do recaps of Superhero Profiles news for the past month, like what I did in November. It’s only my second month (so yup I’m still counting)… Actually I still can’t believe I am writing this blog!

Heroes @ NBC

The phenomena that is Heroes just keeps getting better! NBC seals the Monday night timeslot for Heroes at 9/8c while revamping some around. Awards are handed out left and right - A Golden Globe nomination(!) AFI’s best TV show and TIME Mag’s people who mattered in 2006.

There was one major episode - FALLOUT - but it sure was major and explosive. All the spoilers here, here and here talked about the same things - a hero will be lost and a bomb will nuke Manhattan. When the episode was over, I was so shocked and sad to lose Eden and find out the bomb might be Peter! But it seems the Haitian isn’t such a bad guy after all. In three weeks, we’ll all have some answers when “Godsend” shows up.

Once again, we saw some of the casts having fun at different events and drumming up appearances. We have photos of the cast here and here. The whole cast was rumored to grace a Dixie Chicks concert but I never got htis confirmed. That chat with Ellen Degeneres on TV was fun. Milo Ventimiglia promoted his Rocky Balboa movie (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). Beautiful pictures of Milo here. We saw plenty of Hayden Panettiere at a conference photoshoot, at the VH1 awards, hanging out with Paris Hilton, at the Rocky Balboa premiere, Smashbox, and Spike TV awards . Golden Globe nominee Masi Oka was interviewed here on what it’s like to be a famous heroic geek, and he will be in a future “Studio 60” show and on Jay Leno. Ali Larter and Kirsten Dunst hosted some good charity functions for sick children. Zach Quinto’s Sylar was interviewed. Tawney Cypress was interviewed as well.

Wondering what kind of comic characters parallel our Heroes? Here’s a post about it. What kind of superhero are you? Find out here. So if you haven’t watched this phenomenon yet, all 11 episodes are streaming online! We’ll see new cast members joining the club of heroes in January. Want spoilers to tickle your curiosity? (Here and here)

Smallville @ CW

Subterannean” was Smallville’s only new December episode and I was a rather disappointed with it. Someone said it was lame and I can’t disagree. In promotion of the Justice league episodes in January, we tasted reruns the rest of the month (such as 6.3 Wither) At least we have this video of future episodes including the beginnings of a Justice League team.

I almost got TIVO when I missed the first half of Subterranean, but I’m happy that I can get season 5 and maybe a new book too. It’s been so difficult to get pictures of Tom Welling, so I settled for the antagonist Lex aka Michael Rosenbaum and an interview with Erica Durance.

Spoilers for episode 13, and gossip about Lana’s nursery and the Martian Manhunter, and a Smallville carol will keep us “ultimate fans” coming back for more.

Spiderman @ The Movies

This may be Tobey Maguire’s last as Peter Parker so Sony went all-out to give us the best trailer ever, and Fox gave a sneak-peak/interview as well. Someone spread an idea that Milo Ventimiglia might do a good P. Parker too.
