The strike is really OVER!
“The strike is over. Our membership has voted, and writers can go back to work.”
Of all the quotes on TV and news, this is one of the most pleasing statements I heard of late. And I hear thundering applause across our channel! HURRAH!
Members of the Writers Guild of America overwhelmingly voted yesterday to end the strike, on what is truly a historic (albeit Hollywoody) 100-day mark. The guild’s governing board has approved a tentative 3-year agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, and so the contract still has to be rectified in the coming days. But who’s listening? Really!
Tomorrow, it’s back to work for the writers, and everyone will heave a big sigh of relief. Including this blogger!
Now I wonder if Smallville will extend its episodes some more? I know Heroes won’t but that means the Heroes writers will have more time to come up with much better episodes for next season.
