Tawny Cypress interview on her heroic death

by Grace on February 22nd, 2007

She cried. Just before Simone Deveaux died on Peter’s arms, there were tears running down her cheek.

The tears were for real. “It was a wonderful thing that I was allowed to cry, because I was freely bawling my eyes out,” Tawny admits.

The 30-year-old actress has been in tears on and off ever since show creator Tim Kring informed her in December of Simone’s fate. “My story line just wasn’t there,” she acknowledges. “They just couldn’t figure out where to go with Simone.”

Some comfort came from Santiago Cabrera (Isaac) and Milo Ventimiglia (Peter), who cradled her as the character took her last breath. “They just held me and told me it was going to be OK,” Cypress says. “I’ve tried to hold it together as best as I could, but it was very hard to work. I’d have to play my scenes and then go off and cry.”

I would too. But she’s right, her character hasn’t been given great exposure and always was more supporting than a central part of the story.

Her spill the second hero to die later in the season -

“I know of one other person who’s going to get it,” she says. “This person dealt with it a lot better than I did. Even though they warn you from the get-go that people are going to die, it’s a miserable feeling.”

It is indeed. Wondering who it is? Let’s take a vote.

No……I don’t want the Simone character to be dead. I think she plays a pretty important character. I really hope she and peter will become together. Is Tawny and Milo had a crush on the set? ‘Cause their act like it does. Who has the answer?
