Erica (Lois Lane) and Justin (Green Arrow/Oliver Queen) are there for the CW Upfronts, and they revealed that they had known early on that Smallville was moving to a Friday night schedule. What’s interesting is Erica’s comment that [the producers] say next season is always the last one every year, but that  that there is talk of a possible tenth season!

Since Justin is a Chicago native, reporter Dean Richards welcomed him “home”, which was a nice touch.

CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff did make a comment that next season is “not necessarily the last” one for Smallville, but of course it all depends on how season nine actually goes.

Lois Lane in black tight leather should be sexy, instead she manages to look awkward and funny. Oh well. In this sneak peek for Smallville’s Sweeps comeback, Lois Lane is now costumed as Stiletto, the newest superhero to save Metropolis.

It looks like Lois Lane is supposed to meet the ‘red-blue-blur’, one superhero to another. Instead she finds Clark in the same place, and he’s pretty ticked off that she’s pretending to be a super hero! But Lois is annoyed with Clark too, since it looks like he stood her up on a supposed date.

It’s not everyday that Lois gets to save Clark’s skin. Next Thursday, Lois gets to be a superhero and does it all in sleek high heels!

If you recall, Lois Lane vowed that she would get the exclusive on the elusive “red-blue-blur”. In her desperation to become a star reporter, and by serendipity, Lois gets to create a new superhero she named Stiletto. Lois actually gets to save Chloe first, then a kryptonite-weakened Clark!

Way to go, girl!

LOIS LANE IS A SUPERHERO — Lois (Erica Durance) believes that she needs a big story to secure her reputation as a star reporter but the red/blue blur continues to elude her.  However, after Chloe (Allison Mack) is mugged, Lois steps in to fend off one of the attackers and uses the opportunity to pretend a new superhero, Stiletto, has come to town and is giving exclusives to Lois.  Clark (Tom Welling) is concerned Lois will hurt herself pretending to be a superhero but after he is captured by thugs with kryptonite, Lois steps in to save the day.  Kevin Fair directed the episode written by Caroline Dries

As those familiar this Lois, we know she’s not too crazy getting involved with a person who leads a double life. And it’s not that she has a problem with having a hero by her side. Like she told Oliver Queen, she doesn’t want to give her heart to ‘>’>’>someone who’s destiny is greater than hers. She’ll always second place, and left behind. Blame it on the General, but that’s how Lois felt.

But as destiny would have it, Lois Lane was meant to love a hero.

This is the season when Clark Kent began to embrace his destiny as a hero to mankind. He begins working closely with Lois Lane as Daily Planet reporters. Chloe Sullivan, on the other hand, let go of her reporter duties and focused on the Isis Foundation to help other meteor-infected with their abilities. Her romance and marriage to photographer Jimmy Olsen was jeopardized when paramedic Davis Bloome took an interest in Chloe. Unbeknownst to everyone and a shock to himself, Bloome is not human but the the ultimate destroyer Doomsday. With Lex Luthor missing from the North Pole implosion, a new CEO of Luthorcorp emerges – Tess Mercer, who is as ruthless and calculating as the man she adores. Meanwhile, Oliver Queen had a life crisis, and only when Clark took the mantle did he regain his identity as Green Arrow.

Smallville season 8 returned on Thursday at CW with the visit of the Legion of Superheroes, who helped Clark defeat Brainiac’s quest to drain the entire world of its knowledge. The season continues as Clark Kent becomes the hero he is meant to be.

With the crystal back in his possession, Clark Kent activates it but sends him, and Lois Lane, to the Phantom Zone! Clark reunites with Kara and she opens a door for Lois to return to earth. Unfortunately, someone escapes limbo land with Lois and takes over her body.

• Kara (Laura Vandervoort) is expected to appear in this episode.
• Clark and Lois get trapped in the Phantom Zone.

Super-Lois goes after Super-Clark!

In the director’s cut for this Thursday’s Smallville, Lois Lane gets some superpower and attacks Clark Kent. She almost chokes him to death when cousin Kara comes to Clark’s rescue and puts the Lois-impostor back in her place.

With the exception of Mama Martha Kent, almost everyone in Clark’s circle has become super-powered, either through Kryptonite or some alien invasion. Lois Lane is only the latest addition but maybe not the last.

I wonder why Clark seems powerless. Did he lose his powers? Is the altered Lois much stronger? And how did Kara escape from her “prison planet”? Smallville continues this Thursday with “Bloodline“.
