Smallville snubbed at Teen Choice ‘08

August 5, 2008 by Grace

Smallville got four nominations for the Teen Choice Awards ‘08, but went home with nothing at all. In fact, none of the Smallville stars seem to have been present (sans photos), unless I missed them in the throng of celebrities that came.

  • Instead of Smallville, the Choice TV show for Action Adventure went to Heroes.
  • Instead of Kristin Kreuk, the Choice TV Actress for Action/Adventure was Hayden Panettiere of “Heroes”.
  • Instead of Michael Rosenbaum, Choice TV Villain went to Ed Westwick of “Gossip Girls”.

Now what’s weird was there was no winner announced for Choice TV Actor for Action/Adventure in which Tom Welling was nominated.

This doesn’t bode very well for Smallville, which is on its last season this year.

Smallville: Justin Hartley on the return of Green Arrow

August 2, 2008 by Grace

justin-hartley-green-arrow-smallville-nc.jpg One of the best things the Smallville execs did was to hire Justin Hartley as a regular cast member. He plays the Green Arrow/Oliver Queen like it was meant for him, and he has such a following that fans really wanted to see more of him since he first appeared in season 6. I think he deserves a spin-off after Smallville.

At the Comic Con, Sci Fi Wire touched based with Justin Hartley about his excitement to play the green archer in Smallville, and included some SPOILERS in the interview.

  • In season 8, we get to explore the mythology and origin behind Green Arrow
  • Oliver is going to question his motives for being a hero
  • Clark starts to embrace his destiny a little bit more

Read the complete interview here, and hat tip to spoiler-TV.

Kristin Kreuk - "Street Fighter 4 Legend of Chun-Li" update

July 31, 2008 by Grace

Is Kristin Kreuk really saying goodbye to Smallville?

Kristin-Kreuk-CW-nc

The Lana Lang of television admitted that Smallville is the longest relationship she has had in the past 7 years. “And it has now pretty much ended.” As a way to seal the freedom, Kristin Kreuk cut off ALL her hair!

I (Kristin) just went in there on my own and Sarah (she is the key hairstylist on Smallville, and is freakin rad) tied it in a ponytail and sawed the sucker off…

The cut looks great on Kristin, but I’m surprised to find her very thin and haggard-looking in this photo. She looked different at the Comic Con last week. Maybe it’s the stress of filming a new movie.

She landed the title role for the movie adaptation of the video game “Street Fighter 4: The Legend of Chun-Li“. The film is still in productions and very few pictures have appeared… up until now…

July 28, 2008 by Grace

The Smallville cast was actually introduced by Jeph Loeb, who still loves Smallville! Fan-favorite Allison Mack (Chloe) and Justin Hartley (Oliver) were there with newcomers Sam Witwer (Davis Bloome/Doomsday) and Cassidy Freeman (Tess Mercer). The four new producers were also there - Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin, and Darren Swimmer. No Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, or Kristin Kreuk?!

A preview of season 8 was shown, and a fan captured it on vid. It’s not too clear but we can figure afew familiar spoilers from it -

Smallville: Allison Mack at the San Diego Comic Con 2008

July 27, 2008 by Grace

Allison Mack answered a fan question at the San Diego Comic Con this week. How has life changed for her character? She was with Smallville since season 1, at age 18 and now she’s 26 - “this show was a huge part of (my) growing”. Looks like Allison will be directing episodes 13 or 15.

What? Nothing about season 8?!
