The sneaky little villain

November 19, 2008 by Grace

Have you all watched "Heroes" this Monday? Fantastic, wasn’t it? By far, it’s the stellar episode of the season! War is about to break loose and it’s anyone’s guess who will be left standing in the final episode.

And don’t forget "Smallville". Chloe Sullivan is about to wed and Doomsday is her special guest! As Brainiac foretells, "doom" is coming.

Unfortunately, I am fighting my own sneaky little villain these days and I’m losing the battle. The cold virus has knocked me off my feet and I’m hacking, snorting, sneezing and feeling awful everywhere. But I will yet win the war! HA!

So pardon the infrequent posting. Just give me a few days to get well, and I’ll be back with a great review of both "Heroes" and "Smallville" AND exclusive interviews of the shows’ cast. Meanwhile, check out the latest additions to the episode guide for "Heroes" and "Smallville".

Jeph Loeb, Jesse Alexander axed from "Heroes"

November 3, 2008 by Grace

SHOCKING NEWS!!! Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander were fired from “Heroes”!

As writer-producers, Loeb and Alexander were also in charge of day-to-day productions. Alexander directed last week’s episode, and Loeb already finished the script for the volume 3 finale called “War.”

According to Variety, the writers were fired from the show because of creative differences, an overwhelming pressure to slash the show’s $4 mllion/episode budget, and a falling show ratings.  Apparently, NBC does not like where show is going. The Entertainment Weekly article that came out last week may have been the last straw.

Would the firing of the writer-producers Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander bring a fresh wind to the series? Bryan Fuller of Pushing Daisies is rumored to replace the pair. Whoever ends up sitting on this new chair will have his work cut out for him.

Milo Ventimiglia on the Bonnie Hunt Show

October 22, 2008 by Grace

So Milo Ventimiglia went around town his week! He was at the Bonnie Hunt Show October 20 and they talked at length about performing, being a vegetarian, Afghanistan and Hayden Panettiere. Did you know he was a vegetarian since in the womb? Amazing!

Does it seem to you like Milo is a shy person? I thought he is, or maybe he’s not used to the attention of stardom yet, which is good to be kept grounded like that. But oh, did you notice how he evaded the question about Hayden, and his face went sour? When you’re out in the spotlight all the time like Milo is, you really have to guard what little privacy you have. And that’s hard.

Heroes: Lauer as guest star, and who else is talking

October 6, 2008 by Grace

The fourth installment for the “Heroes” volume 3 airs tonight, so let’s take a look at who’s buzzing about the show today.

But first, here is a PRIMETIME NEWSY Matt-Lauer-NBCSPOILER (take two). Casting call for what may be a “Volume 4: Fugitives” episode includes this:

  • Lauer: 45 - 55. Male. This handsome super-star anchor of a major network news program conducts a high profile interview with a politician.

Uhm, isn’t that someone we know from a morning show? (Very cool how Heroes First spun this.)

Now, onto other buzz:

Graeme takes on the very confusing and alternate futures that “Heroes” posits when she asks “How many futures does Heroes actually need, anyway?”

Totally badasses future Peter and future Claire pose for a photoshoot and Watching Heroes has the pics! Nice grab, Debbie!

Blake Shields, better known as Flint, talks to his hometown paper about his character and coming back (?) for more episodes.

Charlie claims “Heroes has both present and future problems” that have nothing to do with time-travel.

Like it or hate it, episode 304 “Heroes: I am Become Death” is on tonight at 9pm ET at the peacock network.

Hayden Panettiere takes it easy

October 5, 2008 by Grace

“Heroes” actress Hayden Panettiere takes an easy afternoon off with a friend. The girls had lunch, headed to a few furniture stores in the area before going back to Hayden’s house.

I love how simple Hayden’s outfit is - loose jeans, white shirt and that scarf-belt! - very casual, very chic but also classy with the bright red lipstick.
