Heroes 3.06 "Dying of the Light" - review

October 20, 2008 by Grace

Heroes episode 3.06 “Dying of the Light
Airdate: October 20, 2008

Even after the Level 5 fiasco, I never doubted that those who possess Sylar’s powers - him and Peter - can do the greatest harm. That is, until dad comes along. Arthur Petrelli is scary. He is now virtually unstoppable and everyone around him is dispensable.

But first let’s see what went down -

Heroes-306-dyingofthelight-03 Knox took Adam Monroe in to see a bedridden, immovable Arthur Petrelli, and for the first time Adam was scared for his life. Arthur only had to touch him and Adam’s powers and life source transferred to the incapacitated elder. Adam dried out and turned to dust right before our eyes! Is this goodbye for David Anders? Man, he wasn’t really given enough scenes to shine in volume 3. It’s a shame.     NBC Photo: Adam Taylor

Meanwhile, Meredith is hostaged by Eric Doyle, a puppeteer who can control a human’s muscles and movement. Claire and her mom Sandra try to save her only to be held captive themselves. A game of Russian roulette points the gun at Claire and Sandra shoots her daughter. Eric Doyle’s mad laughter at the sight of a dead Claire was short-lived when Claire regenerated and hit the puppeteer’s head unconscious. HRG finishes the job by putting Doyle into a coma and bringing him back to Level 5.

Now for a good news and a big ‘whew’!

Heroes 3.06 "Dying of the Light" - tonight!

October 20, 2008 by Grace

Heroes episode 3.06 “Dying of the Light
Airdate: October 20, 2008, 9pm NBC

Heroes-306-dyingofthelight-03One of “Heroes” biggest twist happens tonight, when Arthur Petrelli (Robert Forster), the bedridden patient pictured, gets up and takes his place as the super villain that runs Pinehearst Industries.

The Company now has a rival in Pinehearst Industries, and its new recruits include the villains Knox, Daphne, Adam Monroe, Maury Parkman, and get this, maybe Matt Parkman and Hiro Nakamura!

Peter goes after the Industry and sees a new side to the father he thought was dead.

Spoilers:

  • DEATH: The hero - a she, who has been attached to a “former human”.
  • DEATH: The villain - he just got out of there (Level 5), and he’s also going down.
  • Claire’s special abilities have to do with grandpa and grandma Petrelli (think back to when Kaito handed baby Claire to HRG).
  • If you recall, Kaito Nakamura gave a reference to the hope of the world, the “light” that can stop the destruction. Who is, or what is the “light”?

Heroes-Milo-Ventimiglia-Peter-Petrelli-season3 In this sneak peek from Sprint, evil forces are gathering and Arthur Petrelli is the lead villain. Peter Petrelli warns his dad about destroying the world. It also looks like Hiro is in the future with Matt and the African.

“You can’t choose your family, but you can choose a side.” What will Peter choose? Will Hiro choose his own path, or have it chosen for him?

Heroes 3.06 "Dying of the Light" spoilers - who dies, and Claire’s special ability

    October 17, 2008 by Grace

Heroes episode 3.06 “Dying of the Light
    Airdate: October 20, 2008

Heroes-305-angels-monsters-22 Have you wondered just how special Claire Bennet is? She can regenerate for sure, she can’t get hurt and obviously she can’t die. Why and how? We know Sylar and Peter (who ‘gained’ her abilities) can die with a stab at the back of the skull, or their heads cut off. Can Claire survive those?

Sylar told her she is different, “unlike the others” and it has to do with her special powers. E! Online has the scoop that her abilities have to do with “Grandma Angela, Grandpa Arthur and the whole previous corrupt generation of Heroes. (Think back to when Kaito Nakamura handed off Baby Claire to HRG.)”

I have to go back to the old episodes and find out just what happened in that scene. Can you remember?

Meanwhile, just how often do heroes die? It looks like there are two deaths at “Heroes” next week. According to Kristin, a villain AND a hero are going “six feet under” for good.

    • The hero - a she, who has been attached to a “former human”. Can you guess?
    • The villain - he just got out of there (Level 5) I assume, and he’s also going down. Who can it be?

Heroes 8.06 "Dying of the Light" sneak peek -Sylar asks Peter’s help

    October 16, 2008 by Grace

Heroes episode 3.06 “Dying of the Light
    Airdate: October 20, 2008

Heroes-305-angels-monsters-05 Strange how things turn out. In “I am become death“, Peter asked future Sylar to teach him his powers to stop the new villains. Unable to control the hunger, Peter went after Angela and blamed Sylar for giving him his powers. Unknown to them all, a menace was after Angela and the rest of those who possess these powers.

In this sneak peek for Monday’s episode “Dying of the Light“, Angela Petrelli is in trouble, and Sylar asks Peter for help. Obviously Peter is very suspicious of his newfound villain-brother.

Watch the spoilery sneak peek after the cut, and find out what Sylar found out about his own future.

Heroes 3.06 "Dying of the Light" - trailer

    October 14, 2008 by Grace

Heroes episode 3.06 “Dying of the Light
    Airdate: October 20, 2008

Heroes-306-dyingofthelight-03 I hate it when I’m reading an edge-of-the-seat thriller and someone interrupts me!

Well, that’s what it feels like with “Heroes” now. Just as it’s getting better, it’s a “to be continued” and then we have to wait until next week. And this trailer doesn’t help either!

Arthur Petrelli is awake and putting his “army” together! I still can’t believe he can communicate from his comatose bedridden state. At his disposal, he has the mind-bending Maury, little miss confused Daphne, Knox the baddie, Flint the fire-breathing dragon, and maybe Hiro, Matt (if Daphne recruits him) Claire (at least from the future) and of course the disciple Adam. Will Peter join them?

Meanwhile, I’m suspicious of Mohinder’s true colors now. He’s more dangerous than his old friends know him to be.

Watch the vid after the jump and let’s talk about this trailer!

Heroes 3.06 "Dying of the Light" - promo pictures 1

    October 10, 2008 by Grace

Heroes episode 3.06 “Dying of the Light
    Airdate: October 20, 2008

These are teaser photos of the episode “Dying of the Light” which comes out two weeks from now, and they’re spoilers for the taking.

Of course Adam Monroe knows Arthur Petrelli. Adam Monroe pays a visit to comrade Arthur Petrelli. Friendly or fatal visit? We know Adam is not one to just chat.

Now the promo video for Monday’s episode (”Angels and Monsters“) blurb that Arthur Petrelli is the leader of the villain, when we all thought it was Adam who recruited them into the company, or does he want us to think that?
