Smallville still a hit with teen fans

September 1, 2008 by Grace

When Smallville premiered in 2001, the teen fans and viewers went crazy over Tom Welling and the young boy Clark Kent. After all, Smallville was about a teenage superhero trying grow his way through high school, unrequited love and hormones. When Clark Kent and the gang graduated from high school in season 4, Smallville changed. The themes and struggles were darker, more edgy. Though still less complicated, and more PG acceptable, than the other shows that target the same age group, Smallville was becoming more mature.

I still love Smallville like day one, but unfortunately my teen friends grew out of it. Maybe things will be different for season 8, but meantime I thought I’ll ask this readership if Smallville still appeals to teen fans. Here’s what YOU said:

  • No never!                                  24
  • Yeah, too bad.                           23
  • Maybe, but it’s not too late.         17
  • (Total votes: 64)

Close enough, eh? Like the 2008 presidential race, it could go one way or another. Want to weigh in on why Smallville is not reaching the teen demographics like before?
