Smallville season 7 premiere “Bizarro” - recap
Now this is SMALLVILLE at its best!
The season 7 opened with Clark showing wow! powers with his heat vision!
The final episode for season 6 ended with a Phantom Zoner absorbing Clark’s essence and taking all of his DNA, memory and being minus the human conscience and creating Bizarro. Lex was led away in a police car as primary suspect for Lana’s death. Chloe brought her dying cousin Lois back to life at the expense of her own.
Season 7 opens with the dam breaking as a result of Clark and Bizarro fighting. Bizarro clobered Clark his death when CK suddenly found strength to punch his anti-self to an electric pole. The dam breaks and water rushed on towards a dad and his boys fishing downstream. In the most powerful use of his heat vision yet, Clark evaporates the water right before the boy’s bewildered eyes.
Lex finds himself trapped in the police car in the bottom of the river. As he was struggling for breath underwater, the last thing he sees is an ‘angel’ in the water. He wakes up to find himself on the shore, safe and again sees this angel before she flies away.
Lionel is unconscious upstream and gets pulled out to safety by somebody. But he never surfaces again and still remains unaccounted for.
Lois revives her consciousness only to find Chloe lifeless beside her in a trapped underwater cavern of 33.1. With supers strength, Clark shatters the ceiling and explains it away to Lois as the ceiling caving in.
Bizarro frees himself the electric pole with a wide gaping wound through his torso. In the exact opposite as Clark, he evaporates a passersby with his heat vision, and his face turns an uglu metallic. The anti-Clark heads straight to the Kent farm and gets more power from the Kriptonite hidden in the barn.
Chloe is rushed to the hospital but the doctors could not save her. A bewildered Lois tells Clark that the last thing she remembers was a guard stabbing her and blood rushing out her side before she faints. And then she wakes up with no wound at all, and Chloe was dead. Clark hints that maybe Lex’s men did an experiment on the two cousins, so Lois goes after Lex.
After failing to revive her, the doctors declare Chloe dead at 13:49. And minutes later, Chloe comes back to life! But she’s trapped in the morgue and shouts for help. Clark gets the devastating news of her death from the physician but hears Chloe faintly shouting. He takes her out from the morgue and CK’s sidekick didn’t even realize she had been dead. When pressed, Chloe is unable, or unwilling to explain how she resurrected from the dead.
At Luthercorp, once again Lex realizes that he should have died but was given yet another chance at life. So he decides to turn himself in to the police for the murder of his wife. Bizarro pays Lex a visit in the police holding cell. Bizarro challenges Lex to help him kill Clark by giving him more kriptonite because he “wants to be his (Lex’s) ally”.
With Chloe’s help, Clark finds out that more kriptonite are hidden in Reeves Dam. But Clark hesitated - Bizarro was stronger than him, can fly, and everything that affected Clark had the opposite effect on Bizarro.
Clark finds more information from the Martian Manhunter and he realizes that Bizarro deos not have any conscience, no humanity. The Manhunter replies the Kal-El’s humanity is both his greatest strength and his greatest vulnerability. Because Bizarro is his exact opposite, the yellow sun that gives Kal-El strength may be key to destroying Bizarro.
At the dam, Lex shows Bizarro the kriptonite storage and, pointing a gun at him, asks he only replicated Clark. In one swoop, Bizarro puches Lex unconscious and absorbs power from the rocks to make him stronger. Clark appears Bizarro easily hits Clark into a pillar, collapsing the ceiling open to the sun. In classic Superman Returns style, Clark’s wounds get healed and he gets his strength back. He calls out to Bizarro and gets him exposed to the sun. Without knowing it, his face turns metallic and Clark punches him out toward the sky! The Manhunter flies the Phantom away to the sunny side of Mars!
In the Kent farm, Clark tells Chloe how he felt hatred for Lex to be a very clear emotion, and sees in Bizarro what he can become if he lets his anger get the better of him. Later that night, the Manhunter tells Kal-El how proud his father is of him. But Kal-El replies that he has ignored his destiny all along, and tried to be somebody he will never be -human.
Chloe burns her death certificate; Lex turns himself in; Lionel is still missing.
In Shanghai, China, a woman in blond wig emerges to be Lana.
On top of Smallville’s water tank, a blond girl in a red and blue shirt, puts on a silver bracelet, looks up to the skies and flies away!
Best Quote: Chloe to Clark about Bizarro - “This guy can fly?! Clark you gotta get on that one!”
