Smallville returns for season 8; but these actors won’t !!!
Can you say “Yey” and “uh-oh” in one breath?
Michael Rosenbaum had it wrong. CW renews SMALLVILLE for another season!
But guess who else will be missing from the roster? Ask Ausiello, who says -
“Nearly everyone is expected to return for Season 8 except — wait for it, wait for it — Michael Rosenbaum and Kristen Kreuk. I’ll give you a second to catch your breath. [Beat] Sources close to the show tell me that both actors have informed producers that they don’t intend to return as series regulars next season. However, they are open to doing limited engagements, and those details are being worked out as we speak.”
Michael did hint/said that season 7 will be his last.
Kristen Kreuk, hmm, I sort of expected that, given the stretched-out negotiations over her return for season 7. So finally, she’ll say goodbye. Now, what’s her exit strategy? Take this hint -
“Find a calendar and draw a circle around April 17. That’s the day the show’s first post-strike episode airs. It’s also the day a long-running character — a series regular — takes his/her last breath. As in dies. For real. No cloning crap this time around.

Kreuk leaving makes perfect storyline sense, as we know that Supes is supposed to end up with Lois, not Lana.
I don’t really feel any chemistry between Lois and Clark as it stands now, so Lana would almost need to be written out to make a Lois/Clark hookup believable. Lana is Clark’s true love right now, and he’s such a Boy Scout he couldn’t seriously consider anyone else with her around.
Rosenbaum is the dealbreaker. But in a ideal world, they’d be able to play off Clark’s other enemies.
They now have the same problem comic writers do: Lex Luthor is one of the best villains ever. The rest of Superman’s Rogues Gallery, not so much. Once you get past Brainiac, it dives off the table pretty fast. I don’t know how Doomsday would work on the show, if at all. And I’ve never liked Doomsday as a villain anyway.

it would be interesting to see how the writers get Clark to getting over Lana and moving on. Maybe her death wil define him in a way that makes him see his greater destiny.

All evidence does seem to be pointing fingers to the death of miss Lana Lang. However, there is also some speculation as to whether or not it will be the beloved Chloe Sullivan who leaves the show. So far nothing as been said about her renewing her contract either, which is a very important detail I feel that is being left out just to confuse the watchers all the more about Allison Mack’s return.
So far we have these things to follow-up on for the possible death of Lana: Braniac having taken her over in last night’s Veritas episode. The fact that her contract is not being renewed. The fact that Lana will have to be ‘disposed of’-to put it lightly-in order for Lois to jump the fence so that she’s on Clark’s side. Also, the character who is proclaimed to die is pointed out to be a series regular, some one who as been in it from the very beginning. Well I feel that the death will be Lana’s there is a part of me that’s really unsure.
Its stated that this will be a character that the fans will be disappointed over (Chloe is boomin’ fan-wise far more then Lana is) and a comment was made that one person is paralyzed well another dies. Now this comment can be perceived one of two ways-which has me stuck real bad-one character paralyzed and another dead or A character paralyzed AND THEN dead… Hmmm… A lot to think about.
I’ll say one thing: The show won’t be the same with out either one of them. Lana has built up a bit of a hate club although, and there are people that would love to see her go. Kristin Kreuk has been such an amazing actress right from the very beginning and Lana is sobering up once more to be the sweet young girl that she first was. Chloe, however, is my favorite character. If they do kill her off I can not even begin to explain the devastation that I will feel. Its not fair that Chloe has always been cast in the shadows, and now as soon as she gets half of the ball in her court (with the meteor power plot) they decide to go and kill her off? No-it just wouldn’t be a lodgical thing to do.
I’ve been looking around many sites and people are saying that if Chloe does die they’ll stop watching the show. Being a ‘huge’ Smallville fan myself through out the seasons peoples favorite character has been Chloe Sullivan. If the writers are reading this I beg of you, pleeeeeaaaassseeee don’t kill off my Chloe! *Clings to her.* ;_; She has inspired me in so many ways, its too rock awesome. One of the ways of inspiration so happens to be my name-which is actually Chloe, after her. My family agrees that the show will ‘never’ be the same with out our grade-A reporter miss Sullivan. Allison Mack is one of the most amazing actress’ I’ve ever seen in action. Props to ya’ girl, and keep at it! Her facial expressions and reactions are so well done! :3
