"Heroes:Villains" 3.01: New promo - Peter’s dilemma

A unique promo clip for “Heroes: Villains” was shown on NBC this week. This one didn’t build up from the previous promo clips, instead it explores on why the heroes made choices that will change their future.
The clips feature a voice over “You have no idea the fire that your playing with“, from Claire’s bio mom Meredith (Jessalyn Gilsig) might be a warning for Claire not to venture into something she can’t control.
The question that Peter Petrelli asked - “would it be like this if all these people didn’t know about us?” - might be a clue that in the future, somehow, their identities will be exposed. The world will know that people like them exist, and that might not be a good thing for them. At the end of the clip, future Peter tells Claire, “I can fix all of this!”. Why would he even think it’s his responsibility to fix the past. Is he just being Mr. Do-Gooder again, or did present Peter do something that future Peter needs changing… what could that be? What does he mean with “destroy everything“?
