Heroes: The Villains of Level 5

September 22, 2008 by Grace

What’s a hero without his villain?

And in this season of the hit show “Heroes” it is all about being a villain. The heroes themselves: Peter, Claire, Hiro, Ando, Nathan, Niki, Matt, and Mohinder, they will come face to face with decisions that could destroy their fate and the world. And among them live truly villainous posthumans – Sylar, Adam, and the Company. But now, a group of other posthumans have who are more dangerous than Sylar have emerged.

Here are the most dangerous villains from the Company Level 5.

Francis Capra as Jesse Murphy.
Power: Can project concussive power through the use of his voice.
Note: All hints seem to indicate that Peter Petrelli is “hidden” inside Jesse’s body, presumably by Future Peter.

  • As long as Murphy can scream long enough, there is no limit to the energy he can put out. Murphy’s power is very similar to Echo de Mille’s. Are they one and the same?

Jamie Hector as Benjamin “Knox” Washington.
Power: Gains strength by feeding off the fears of those around him.
Note: A one-time gang leader, and now the leader of the Level 5 escapees. He’s a tough mofo. Takes on Sylar and gets away with it, and you have to be pretty tough to do that.

Ken Lally as The German.
Power: Can manipulate steel.
Note: Magneto of the X-Men? If his power is similar to Magneto’s, then he has the potential of being the most powerful of the villains.

  • Magneto can sense metal, but The German’s power is being one with metal. It’s part of him.
  • Read Ken Lally’s interview at Watching Heroes, where the actor finding out that his father was a CIA spy – for real, and how Ken’s own “spy” and martial arts training helped him bigtime in tonight’s premiere episode.

David H. Lawrence as Eric Doyle.
Power: A puppeteer who can make people do whatever he wants.
Note: Originally, it was hinted that Peter Petrelli was hidden inside him; that would seem not to be the case now. Is Doyle’s puppeteering power responsible for Peter’s condition?

  • Eric Doyle is funny, sympathetic but totally creepy. He’s the kid in high school who got bullied and never got to date the prom queen. Now he does.

Blake Shields as Flint.
Power: Can shoot blue fire from his hands.
Note: “He has a family connection to a familiar hero”. Also, he’s a Texans. He’s obviously related to Meredith Gordon, Claire’s mother, who can generate fire from her hands.
