Episode 1.01 “Genesis”

Random people from all around the world discover they have heroic abilities. In Texax, Claire Bennet finds she can heal herself, even after death. In New York, Peter Petrelli is convinced he can fly, so jumps from a building. His brother, Nathan, flies up to catch him. In Las Vegas, Niki Sanders sees a mirror of herself she does not like to see. In Tokyo, Hiro Nakamura finds he can bend space and time. In New York, Isaac Mendez can paint the future, including a huge explosion in New York. Mohinder Suresh searches for the truth in his father’s work to find these special people.

Episode 1.02 “Don’t Look Back”
Air Date: October 2, 2006
Los Angeles police officer Matt Parkman can hear the cries of a missing girl in his head. Mohinder meets his father’s neighbor, Eden McCain. Claire loses video proof of her abilities. Niki blacks out again, but wakes to the brutual murder of two thugs. Peter confronts Nathan, and Nathan admits Peter flew as well. Hiro teleports to New York five weeks in the future, only to witness the destruction Isaac’s painting predicted.
Episode 1.03 “One Giant Leap”

Hiro tries to convince Ando he has powers meant to save the world. Matt runs into the FBI about suspected serial killer Sylar, who Mohinder learns had a connection with his dead father. Niki discovers a mass grave which may be linked to her ex-husband. Peter tries to fly again but cannot; however, he and Simone grow closer. Claire is nearly raped and suffers a fatal head injury, but awakes to find herself undergoing an autopsy.
Episode 1.04 “Collision”

Matt is kidnapped by Claire Bennets’s father and a mysterious man with thought-blocking abilities. Peter tries to convince Mohinder of Isaac’s powers. Nathan goes campaigning to Las Vegas to raise campaign money from Linderman, who forces Niki to seduce Nathan. Ando uses Hiro’s powers to cheat in Vegas. Isaac paints trouble for Claire. Claire takes revenge on Brody. Peter gets a message from a future Hiro.
Episode 1.05 “Hiros”
Air Date: October 23, 2006
Matt uses his mind-reading ability to please his wife. The police come to Niki to look for her husband, D.L. Hawkins. Hiro and Ando meet trouble in Vegas. Mohinder plans to return to India.
Episode 1.06 “Better Halves”
Air Date: October 30, 2006
Hiro and Ando try to gamble with thugs, and Hiro faces his fears of being a hero. Mr. Bennet has fake biological parents meet with Claire. Isaac gets calls from Hiro, but cannot understand - Peter is able to step in. D.L. Hawkins shows up at Niki’s home.
Episode 1.07 “Nothing to Hide”

Matt and the FBI search for Sylar. A new character is introduced. Hiro is given yet another opportunity to save someone. Nathan uses his family as strategy to win politically. Claire is shocked to learn where her missing tape wound up. Peter goes to Nathan to get back one of Isaac’s paintings, and reveals his plan to save the world.
Episode 1.08 “Seven Minutes to Midnight”
Air Date: November 13, 2006
Mohinder bids farewell to his father, but then has dreams of the past that challenge his future path. Hiro and Ando stop at a diner and meet a new character. Mr. Bennet struggles to protect his daughter, Claire, from what may happen on Homecoming.

Episode 1.09: “Homecoming”

Claire is voted homecoming queen, but her night is turned to horrors. Nathan and Simone find the missing painting, but does it predict more death? Hiro travels back in time to reverse a tragedy, but does not return to the present. Micah spends time with his dad, against Niki’s wishes. Mohinder learns of a boy in India who is the key to understanding his father’s research.
Episode 1.10 “Six Months Ago”
Air Date: November 27, 2006
It’s six month’s ago. Mohinder’s father, Chandra Suresh seeks the heroes and meets an eager pupil. Peter becomes a nurse. Nathan could cause trouble for the Petrelli’s. Niki’s father visits, and her image appears. Hiro attempts to save the life of the waitress in the diner. Claire becomes a cheerleader.

Episode 1.11 “Fallout”

Evemts in Texas have serious repercussions for many Heroes. More details of Isaac’s destruction prediction arise. Isaac paints something important for one of the heroes. Mohinder pursues his new future. Matt and F.B.I. Agent Audrey Hanson pursue a break in the Sylar case. Horrified by Jessica’s recent actions, Niki makes a tough decision to protect her family.

Isaac’s (Santiago Cabrera) puzzling “Hiro vs. T-Rex” painting inspires Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (guest star James Kyson Lee) to search for the pictured samurai sword. Jessica (Ali Larter) struggles against Niki’s decision to turn herself into police. With his associate Eden dead and Matt (Greg Grunberg) on his heels, H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) tries to focus on his orders regarding Sylar (guest star Zachary Quinto). Peter continues to follow the invisible man while his brother, Nathan, seeks help from Mohinder. Matt’s wife comes to terms with Matt’s thought-hearing power. Hiro and Ando are kidnapped by men working for his father. Claire searches for her biological parents. Micah uses his powers to take large amounts of money from an automated teller machine.

Hiro deals with explaining his new heroic path in life to his ambitious sister and tycoon father. Claude trains Peter to question those closest to him. Niki has the chance to reunite with D.L and their son, Micah. Sylar makes a move against Mr. Bennet. Claire meets her biological mother.

Matt becomes a bodyguard for an objectionable client. Mohinder finds another person on the list. Claire learns more about her biological parents. Hiro and Ando get sidetracked in Vegas again. Peter’s loved ones go to great lengths to find him. Niki and Nathan meet again.

Peter is disappointed by a betrayal; Claire can’t contain her anger toward her father; Matt loses control when radioactive refugee Ted Sprague (Matthew John Armstrong) shows up; a new hero (Stana Katic) with “wireless” mental powers appears.
