Heroes episode 1.17 “Company Man” questions
Have you gotten over last Monday’s episode yet? Coz I know I haven’t. Not only was that one Globe-winning episode, but boy did we uncover a lot! And got more questions to throw around as well.
HRG is not evil after all, wasn’t he? His smugness at being heartless 14 years back collapsed when Claire entered his life. He did kill Claude, who was supposedly protecting “one of them”. Now, he’s in the same exact boat and willing to sacrifice his life for Claire.
Who was Claude protecting then? “One of them” obviously but there’s no hint at all who it might be! And yet, fast forward to the present man and we find a skeptic nomad who will only look out for his own interest.
Who does the Haitian answer to? Was he acting on his own when he didn’t erase Claire’s memories before? Or was he under orders to spare her? Is the Haitian and HRG working for different sides, and if so, who?
Is Mr. Nakamura of the dark forces too? We know he’s HRG’s boss’s boss, so how this he play into this? Who is he, really? He’s not such an isolated character anymore, and maybe he knows about Hiro’s powers too…. AND, if Hiro has powers, does his dad too?
Will HRG live? Ah, please don’t tell me he’s the one dying on March 5th!

Yeah, I was glad to see HRG take a stand for his daughter.

I read this theory somewhere.
Claude was protecting Nathan. Nathan flew and saved Claude from falling.

This question baffled me. HRG asked the Haitian why he didn’t follow his orders. The Haitian answered that he was following someone higher than HRG. HRG said, “In this company?” The Haitian said, “In your daughter’s life.”
Does that mean the Haitian thought that disobeying HRG would actually protect Claire better than erasing her memory?

It was shocking to see Hiro’s dad with the Company.

Kristin at eoline.com has been hinting of a death for weeks. However, she said the person who dies has a power.
Ausiello at tvguide.com says Simone will die on March 5th.
So, it looks like HRG will be safe on March 5th.

Really, Nathan saved Claude? That must mean he’s been flying all these 14 years. I wonder if Claude knows Peter is related to Nathan.
As to who dies, I have a feeling it’s Isaac. We did see his skull cut off when Hiro traveled into the future. His is one character that hasn’t really progressed much as well, like Simone’s. I mean he can paint the future but he’s been too confined to that studio of his. And ok, it’s a place for other heroes (Peter, Hiro,Nathan, Simone, HRG, so far) to congregate “let’s go see Isaac” but he’s got to go out and interact with them in another setting.
