Awaited romance on Smallville season 9!!!
July 7, 2009 by Grace
Lois and Clark. Well, it’s not really new, as in, never-heard-of-before, because we know that’s where it ends anyway. But it’s still such a tickle to see how Smallville develops the love story between the most famous couple in super-dom.
Since Lois Lane was introduced a few seasons ago as Chloe’s visiting military-bred cousin, long before Lana Lang was out of the picture, fans have already looked forward to how Smallville will spark the chemistry. It wasn’t long before Clark and Lois were exchanging garbs and sniping at each other. But Lois has to fall for someone else first, that being the secretive Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. It was in that relationship that Lois declared she can’t be with someone who hides behind an identity because his destiny will always be larger than them. And Clark still has to let go of Lana Lang. Eventually by season eight, there’s closure with Lana and obviously their paths can never cross too near each other without killing the Man of Steel. Oliver rekindled an unfinished business with Tess Mercer. And so a ‘Lois and Clark’ began to bloom. Clark sat opposite Lois at the Daily Planet and became somewhat her apprentice-reporter while moonlighting as the Red-Blue-Blur. The most endearing moment in the whole season was Clark talking to Lois from a phone booth on the day he was supposed to die.
Now don’t worry if you haven’t seen the complete eight season of Smallville, because you will have that chance in a month’s time. But this coming fall for season nine, Smallville fans expect the friendship between Lois and Clark to bloom into the much-awaited romance! And Kristen of E!Online spoils it with one-sentence:
“We’re hearing the big romance arc this season is Lois and Clark.”
!!!!! It’s a date-night viewing all season long!

Smallville new cast: Callum Blue as Zod
June 26, 2009 by Grace
It only keeps getting better! Smallville finally cast the actor to play Zod!
For a few weeks after Smallville ended there were rumors that Sam Witwer was cast as a bald-headed Zod. But when we learned that Witwer wasn’t coming back and instead a new baddie was introduced, having Zod come back sort of fizzed out.
So the news hits that British actor Callum Blue joins Smallville in a regular role as General Zod. Even better since that means we’ll see the conflict between Clark Kent and Zod played out over a lengthy arc. I wonder how the writers are spinning this one? Last season’s final scene showed Tess Mercer being captivated by the ‘light’ and voice belonging to Zod. Is she going to be his disciple? After all, Tess always knew the best way to get Clark up to his destiny was present him with his worst villain, and if that half of the two-headed monster wasn’t Doomsday then maybe it’s Zod.
What do you think?

Smallville Cast: Brian Austin Green as Metallo
June 19, 2009 by Grace
When Smallville returns on September 25 (a Friday), fans will be treated to two episodes of villains and spin-offs (?!)
Word on the street is that Brian Austin Green is coming to Smallville as the DC Comics villain Metallo, aka John Corben.
According to DC lore, Corben is a Daily Planet journalist and a thief who was rescued in a near-death accident that left only his brain functioning. He was given a robotic body with a flesh-like skin and a kryptonite power-source for a heart. It would be interesting to find out how his path will cross with Clark Kent (Tom Welling).
Ausiello also scooped that Green turned down a full-time role at One Tree Hill for a spot at Smallville.
And Austin apparently is campaigning to star as Hal Jordan in the Warner Bros’ superhero movie “Green Lantern”.

Smallville: Sam Witwer opted out of Season 9
June 19, 2009 by Grace
Now this is a shocker, but a rumor since it’s from “a source”.
TV Guide wrote that Sam Witwer was invited back to Smallville season 9 for several episodes but, and quote “at this time the portrayer of Davis/Doomy has no plans to return”.
Wow. Two ‘wows’.
Sam Witwer was one of the more interesting characters in season 8. When Sam mentioned he wanted to make Davis vulnerable and human, he left a lasting impression on the viewers. Sam Witwer is a great character actor, and I can understand why Smallville would want him back.
Well, casting for season 9 isn’t over yet, so maybe Sam decides to take up Davis Bloom again.
Do YOU want Sam Witwer back? Comment away!
Check out the more photos of Sam Witwer aka Davis Bloom after the cut…
Smallville season 9 to cast new character “Mason”
Smallville is now looking to cast a new villain for season 9, and it’s someone named MASON. Anybody familiar with the name?
According to Kryptonsite (with credit to Ausiello), “Mason” has a magnetic personality and a master of seduction. He is a genius who outmaneuvers everyone in his path, and so he’s a force to be reckon with.
"MASON: Late 20’s early 30’s. He’s a handsome charismatic charmer who savors life. He appreciates good food, loves fast cars and sees beauty in every woman. There isn’t a detail in life that eludes his senses. He is a master of seduction… knowing what everyone wants and needs before they do. But don’t let his magnetism fool you. There’s more than meets the eye. His intelligence can’t be matched. He outmaneuvers everyone in his path. Though he longs to find a home, that vulnerability can be twisted — making him a force to be reckoned with."
Kryptonsite also released details of several scenes that will be used for the audition. Mason will act with Tess Mercer where first, he seduces Tess inside the Queen Industries jet, and then later in the Luthor Mansion he confronts her about a seeming betrayal.
So, who is Mason? Better yet, who in the Superman-Universe is a villain named Mason?
- Rob Worley of Mania bets the name on Rex Mason, otherwise known as Metamorpho.
- Bohemibens says it’s Alexander Mason a.k.a. The Planeteer. And reading his comparison of the casting call with The Planeteer’s description, Bohemibens could be right on the money!
- Or it could be an old character hiding under a new name…
Is it too early to guess who the character might be?
Uh-oh, Smallville moves to Friday nights
CW just released it’s Fall 2009 line-up, and it’s not looking too good for eight-year veteran series “Smallville”. But first for some good news.
It looks like all of the regular cast are returning for season nine, after all, except for Aaron Ashmore and Sam Witwer, since their characters Jimmy and Davis died at the end of season 8.
The Smallville cast, season 8. (l-r) Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Sam Witwer (Davis Bloome), Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy Olsen), Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), Tom Welling (Clark Kent), Cassidy Freeman (Tess Mercer) and Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen). Image: © 2008 The CW Network, LLC. All Rights Reserved
However, this fall, CW will introduce several new shows. One is a remake and the two take on themes we’ve seen elsewhere.
“Smallville” producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer jumped the bandwagon to executive produce the rebooted “Melrose Place”, which was a hit series of the 80s. The new series is slated for Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. after “90210”.
“Beautiful Life” takes on cut-throat competitive lives behind the high-fashion model world, and comes after “America’s Next Top Model”. So you get the drift. CW wants to place shows with similar themes right after another, to get to viewers who like the same flavors. The third new series called “Vampire Diaries” need no explaining. Well, it’s not Twilight, but it’s the vampire-loves-human-loves-vampire triangle.
So guess what night “Vampire” will be thrown in? Find out after the cut, and the fate that befalls Smallville.

In two days, season 8 of Smallville will be over, but before the credits roll, several big “throwdowns” are going to happen! And I gotta warn you this post is all about SPOILERS, so if you’re allergic to it, better keep your nose out of the way…

We know since March that two characters are going to die this season’s end… Who of the following from above could they be? Eenie-minnie-mynie-moe…
But before we sound off, let’s see how they could possibly go down.
Clark will finally get to fight Doomsday, or is it that Doomsday will be throwing Clark around like a rag doll! The trailer sneaks that Clark will seem to have lost his powers! Man, that would just suck for the superman. How many before has Clark’s powers fail him just when he really needs it? Of course, Chloe has almost always been there to save her friend, so will she do it again this time? No doubt her loyalty lies with Clark, so maybe the love-struck Davis won’t like that at all.
Oh but there’s the warning from a Legionnaire that Clark is going to die! Major ‘uh-oh’.
And in the girl version of the fight camp, Tess and Lois are going to go at it too! It seems to have to do with an orb that Lois got hold of. And we know how possessive Tess can be about Veritas souvenirs.
Well, here are more spoilers from Kryptonsite and Spoilerfix… I can’t wait for Thursday! This is gonna be great!
- The promo trailer seems to be showing that Davis is going to be rid of Doomsday through the black kryptonite!
- Two characters are definitely going to die in this finale! And it could be Chloe, Davis, or someone else entirely.
- There are going to be some major “quintessential” Clark and Lois moments by season’s end.
- A special guest appearing in the final episode will return next season to cause big problems!
- According to Erica Durance the final episode will be “heartbreaking, surprising… and magical”
- Cassidy Freeman says Tess wants Clark to fight Doomsday because to her, that’s the only way he can become Superman.

Oliver Queen thinks Clark Kent is a wuss. In the Green Arrow’s mind, Clark is this super-powered alien who doesn’t care about really saving the world (read: get rid of the world’s villains) but only wants to save “his friends” and who has such a narrow view of his destiny. We heard Oliver push Clark many times to take up the mantle, and Clark always disappointed him.
Well, it looks like Oliver has had enough. If Clark can’t or won’t do it, then he will. Oliver got Lex killed, didn’t he, when Clark won’t lay a hand. And now there’s Doomsday that Clark is so worried about not killing that it must piss a hero like Green Arrow!
So, for the season finale this Thursday, Oliver is charging his Justice League to step in and take over. But first they have to get rid of Clark!
Get a hold of the promo pictures and see Black Canary, Impulse and Green Arrow take down Clark Kent. But how in the world did they do that?! Clark Kent is supposed to be invincible!

Uh-oh, it looks like Clark is in deep trouble! Justice League members Black Canary and Impulse/Bart Allen and the only time they show up is when Clark needs friends to save him! And Legion member Cosmic Boy is back from the future too!
From the season finale (Doomsday) trailer, it looks like Clark needs some serious help! Oliver really wants Davis Bloom dead, and will stop at nothing to kill the monster. And Cosmic Boy Rokk warns Clark that “tomorrow is your day to die”!!! Chloe’s going to intervene too, and if you look closely at the trailer, you’ll see that she might have separated Davis from his alter-ego Doomsday, all to save Clark, which Davis does not like at all!
And what’s the orb got to do with things now? Watch the trailer –
And what’s this?! Cosmic Boy comes back from the future to warn Clark that saving Chloe has jeopardized the superman’s own future!

Looks like there’s plenty of fighting and infighting on Smallville’s season finale! The season is finally reaching its climax and now, the big question on our minds is – will Clark defeat Doomsday?
Of course we know whatever kind of sparring the immortal enemies have will be just that – sparring session for the real fight later on, but still the producers can’t end the season without Clark and Davis/Doomsday packing punches!
And the episode description for the episode “Doomsday” exactly says that Clark and Doomsday are facing off! Not only that, Lois and Tess take it out on each other too!
Here’s the summary from CW -
CLARK AND DOOMSDAY FACE OFF — Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he must kill Davis (Sam Witwer), as Doomsday is a serious threat and must be stopped at all costs. However, Clark struggles with taking a human life, so the Green Arrow and his team decide to take matters into their own hands. Lois (Erica Durance) takes on Tess (Cassidy Freeman), but the fight takes a shocking turn. Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) gets caught in the middle of Oliver and Clark’s battle over killing Davis. Aaron Ashmore also stars. James Marshall directed the episode written by Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders
