Heath Ledger wins Oscar’s best supporting for “Dark Knight”

The most emotional moment of last night’s 2009 Oscars was Heath Ledger’s winning the Best Supporting Actor award!
Heath’s role as the Joker in “Dark Knight” was truly unforgettable. Heath had given the role his very all, and it felt like Heath knew this one would be difficult to top.
It was a bittersweet moment when sister Kate added “we proudly accept this award in behalf of your beautiful Matilda”.

"The Dark Knight" sequel according to Nolan

"The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan talks about a sequel on the eve of its release on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Will there be another Batman movie?
Short answer is, no one knows yet. Nolan is doing rough outlines for a third story, but he hasn’t found one he’s willing to commit to film, he told USA Today.
"It was obvious when the box office was so big ($530 million domestically) that we had underestimated how ready fans were to reboot the franchise," he says. "The worst thing you could do now that you’ve gotten the plane back in the …read more

With over $510 million earned domestically,, he biggest summer movie “Dark Knight” might just turn into the biggest movie draw EVER. It’s only $80 million short of the Titanic. That gap might be gone by the end of this year, when Warner Bros. re-releases the “Dark Knight” in theaters.

So naturally, ‘will there be a sequel’? Chris Nolan hasn’t signed on for anything,  but if ever… who will play villain(s)?

Warner Bros. planning a dark "Superman"?

The 2006 film Superman Returns was a disappointment to Warner Bros. that company execs have decided to put both Superman: Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman on hold. Instead, Warner Bros. wants “the next pack of superhero movies to be bathed in the same brooding tone as The Dark Knight.”
I first read this story at Superhero Hype that Warner Bros. has confirmed a reboot of “Superman“, similar to the strategy used to reboot Ang Lee’s Hulk. Warner Bros. Pictures Group President Jeff Robinov spoke to Wall Street Journal and explained that he wants to explore the evil side of …read more

Actor Morgan Freeman in serious car crash

“Dark Knight” actor Morgan Freeman needed to have surgery as a result of a horrific car crash Sunday night in Mississippi.
If this was in the movies, this would have been an awesome stunt. But in real life, it’s called a serious accident. Around 11:30 p.m. August 4th, Freeman was driving a Nissan Maxima when it veered off the highway and flipped several times before ending in a ditch near his home. Emergency crews had to use the ‘jaws of death’ to free the actor and a female passenger. Earlier reports said the actor was in serious condition, but Freeman’s …read more

Batman and the villains – through the years

Without a doubt, Batman has some of the more famous villains in all of supeherodom -  The Joker, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze to name a few. Most of these villains appeared in both television and film, some of them were played by different actors.
In a tribute to the Cape Crusader and the villains he has fought, Time.com compiled this photo gallery of “Batman Battling the Bad Guys” beginning way back 1949. Television then was in black-and-white, which really didn’t make much difference to the bat-suit.
