Is it really happening?
It’s rumored (”sources say”) that “Spiderman” will have its sequels, and director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are both in it. On the otherhand, Kirsten Dunst won’t be returning, although her character will.
So, we’ll have “Spiderman 4″ around May, 2011… and wait… Spiderman 5 too?! Cinematical reported that a two-part script is in the works.
According to Superhero Hype, nothing’s set and we’ll have to wait for Fox to announce officially. Fingers crossed!

A Broadway production of Spiderman… yeah, it’s a musical! You know, with singing, dancing and acting in between. Some web-slinging and acrobatics maybe? Hey, I love Broadway shows, but, I can not, for the life of me, picture a superhero musical! OK, so there was a Superman musical eons ago, but… see, did you think it was cool?

It’s the twist that has fans in shock!
After 21 years of marriage, Spiderman’s alter-ego Peter Parker parted ways with his wife Mary Jane Watson-Parker in the pages of the latest Marvel comic.
The split resulted from the couple’s loss of memories of their married life as part of a sick deal with villain Mephisto to restore Aunt May’s health.

There is a Spiderman-4 installment!
And it will be written by James Vandervilt, chosen by Sony because of his character-driven approach. Vandervilt’s resume include writing the X-Men Origins:Wolverine, Zodiac, Basic and Darkness Falls.
Laura Ziskin is also returning as the producer but there is no word if director Sam Raimi or stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are returning.

Spiderman-3 hit the Philippine cinemas on May 1st!

It’s three days before the US (I envy you!) which is slated for May 4, Friday.

New York city Mayor Michael Bloomberg started it all. He proclaimed this week as Spider-Man Week. According to the mayor, “It maybe the most important thing I’m going to do this week.”

Spiderman-3 got it’s US Premiere last night at the Tribeca Festival.
And opens nationwide on Friday, May 4.

Some Tobey Maguire juicy vegan tidbits:
He has been a vegetarian for fourteen years, and “close be becoming a vegan”.
He abstains from eggs, cheese and milk.
He recently ordered a non-leather interior for his new car, and buys shoes “made from canvas and stuff like that” that is.. non-animal products.
He’s never had any desire to eat meat, even as a kid.
