Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that could turn out really great, or uber-awkward. And in rare cases, just plain explosive. Like this HEROES episode “Thanksgiving”, where we take a sneak peek at the Bennet Thanksgiving dinner –

Talk about awkward. Sandra brings her date (ugh! – sorry, but Doug Douglas is a caricature, it’s not even funny.) And Lyle is totally absent, poor kid, that’s what you get for having a powered-up sis. I can’t believe Noah and Lauren just bumped into each other at the mall, but then I remember now that Lauren erased her own memories of her infatuation with Noah, so it looks like it’s Noah who maybe pining for something more this time. So in the middle of dinner in the “what are you thankful for?” Q&A, Claire butts in that as a freak, maybe she belongs some place where she can be herself. Of course Noah knows exactly what she’s talking about. And poor Doug has no clue at all, but oh, how he tried to “understand” Claire. You know anything can happen after that comment.

Over at the Petrelli family, I say things are way beyond awkward. Danger signs should be posted at their door.

Peter confronts his mom about the dead body he found in a storage facility and she lies through her teeth about it being a shape shifter. Is Nathan really dead? – the brothers ask their mom, but ever the matriarch that Angela is, she still manages to put her kids in their place, at least for a few moments.

What bothers me is where is Sylar?! Is he somewhere in Nathan’s head? How come he hasn’t gotten his full faculty back yet, like he thought he would once he touches Nathan? I’m sure he’s in there somewhere but it still looks like Nathan has control. I wonder how long before Sylar gets out.

I just saw the episode “Brother’s Keeper” and I tell you that I can’t wait for “Thanksgiving”! If only to know what happens now that Nathan knows he’s a Sylar-incarnate. And then I saw the preview and sneak peeks for “Thanksgiving” and boy, will there be a showdown at Samuel’s camp!

So, here’s what we’ll see next week at the HEROES’ Thanksgiving special (warning you – SPOILERS!)

The Bennet Thanksgiving gathering it’s already an awkward group to start with when Claire butts in that she wants out of college! Claire thinks she wants to go elsewhere (or do something else) and it looks like her parents are not too happy about that. Enter old BFF Gretchen… ahh, Mr. HRG, clever dad you! Do you really think that would stop Claire?

And at the Petrelli table, Nathan confronts mom Angela about his “death”.  It must feel weird to ask your mom if you’re dead or not when you’re standing right in front of her. And guess who’s about to show up uninvited? You guessed it.

Over at the Carnies, Hiro is very angry at being betrayed by Samuel. Now that we know what Samuel plans to do with all those people with abilities, he’s not about to let Hiro go. I don’t know how Hiro thinks Lydia can be trusted, but she’s right. The only way out is to stand up to Samuel before he turns the table on them. It’s going to get really ugly at this Thanksgiving feast!

I wasn’t sure what “the fifth stage” meant until I came across the theories that fans proposed at the HeroesWiki. Some think this episode is about the final stage that comes with accepting an inevitable death. And if this is the case, then this episode must be connected to Hiro’s acceptance of his mortality. Although, if you read the episode description below, the episode could be tied to Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) as well, but I’m not sure what kind of acceptance he has to deal with. Nathan’s death, maybe?

Since “The Fifth Stage” is two episodes down, we can only speculate at this point. Anyway, here’s the summary of that episode –

SAMUEL STARTS TO SEE HIS VISION TAKE SHAPE – H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) is greeted by some unexpected visitors and Samuel’s (Robert Knepper) grand plan begins to come to fruition. Meanwhile, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) struggles to accept the truth and takes extreme measures to get what he wants. Elsewhere, Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) journey leads her to an unexpected destination. Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto and Cristine Rose also star. Jimmy Jean-Louis, David H. Lawrence XVII, Madeline Zima, Dawn Olivieri, Todd Stashwick and Elisabeth Rohm guest star

What really got my attention was “Samuel’s plan’s coming to fruition”. Whatever that may be, I’m betting it won’t go well with for HEROES.

By the way, the original title of the episode was “Upon This Rock”, and I have no idea why they changed it.

There is something very odd about these photos. I thought that H.R.G. will host a thanksgiving dinner to get his family back. Boy, was I so wrong.

Mom Sandra (Ashley Crow) brought her boyfriend, Doug Douglas (“what kind of name is that?! – H.R.G.) (guest star Hank Stratton). And Noah (Jack Coleman) also brought an old friend/partner – Lauren (guest star Elizabeth Rohm) – from the Company days, who had a serious crush on him three years ago. So now Lauren is back and I’m not sure what Bennet is trying to pull here, but this ought to be awkward. Lyle is missing but at least Claire (Hayden Panettiere) showed up.

In my mind, the Thanksgiving Holiday is a day to make amends as you thank the people you love and loved you. And this HEROES episode looks no different than what might be happening in real life. Like the Bennet family for instance. H.R.G. will host a thanksgiving dinner for his family! And that means Lyle, mom Sandra and Claire will all be at the same table so this is a chance for H.R.G to redeem his life back.

And it looks like the Petrelli family is about to have their own celebration as well. Nathan has showed up again and Angela’s world is now complete. Poor woman. Her world has continued to revolve around this one son to the complete ignorance of another.

Although now that Sylar knows who was responsible for his split “personalities”, he might be hunting down Nathan Petrelli and try to get his body back, and he’s going to end with destroying the Petrellis.

Greg Grunberg, Hayden Panettiere, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Cristine Rose and Milo Ventimiglia also star. Ashley Crow, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Madeline Zima, Ray Park, Harry Perry, Elisabeth Rohm, Andrew Connolly also guest star.

I won’t be surprised if Sylar turns up at the Petrelli place. Unfortunately, he might come as Matt Parkman and that can throw off Angela completely. Where’s the Haitian when you need him?

As for the Carnival… Samuel is getting dangerously close to snapping. That’s just my opinion and nothing anywhere in the show indicates this. But the man has become reckless and desperate and I still can’t get why. I thought he was grieving his brother’s death. And then it was about bringing everyone in to the fold, which also didn’t make sense why he wanted to do that. So now is it about murdering Mohinder (which could make someone act like he did), and perhaps asking Hiro to cover it up or go back in time to change it.

One of these days, Samuel will make a really big mistake and bring his own demise.

Things are falling into place, at least for Samuel’s Carnival. He is a great manipulator and has no qualms about using blackmail to get what he wants. First he used Charlie to get to Hiro, and now he’s about to get to Claire through her dad.

Here’s a preview clip of the upcoming episode on HEROES.

And Matt Parkman just got more than he can handle. He is so deep into this now, poor guy. Sylar has just made him a murderer and there is nothing he can do about it. I’m sure Matt is not about to reveal who has Sylar’s body, but this means he is going to suffer Sylar’s wrath all by himself.

These images are all a sneak peek from one scene, but there’s a potential death written all over it that you really have to check them out. Even if the photos are SPOILERS.

The scene is between Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and having two clashing powers in one body will likely result in fatal injuries. It’s been riveting to watch Matt and Sylar battle it for control. Greg and Zach are such great actors you can feel the anger brew between their characters. We know Sylar overpowered Matt’s control over his own body (he learned quick how to use Matt’s powers against him!) but who’s to say Sylar is invulnerable?

Uh-oh. This is really bad. Let’s hope Sylar knows what he is doing. He can’t put Matt’s life in danger, right? If Matt dies, so does he.

No way!

OK, let’s hope that Sylar can use his regenerative abilities and heal all of Matt’s injuries. I mean, if Matt dies…

The four videos below might clue us in on the link between Suresh and Samuel. These are old footages from the Coyote Sands Relocation Center (“1961”) where Chandra Suresh (Ravi Kapoor), Mohinder’s father, used to work at back in 1961, and it looks like the Company were privy to an earthshaking phenomenon back then.

On March 5th 1961, Chandra discovers a “force” that emanates from people with powers. It’s dangerous enough to house so many people with special abilities but to discover that these individuals“attract” each other is even more alarming.

And there’s more.

On Suresh’s next entry (entry #5), he was about to explain more about the “force” when an earthquake interrupts him. Watch the video clips after the cut.

Later entries (video below) record Chandra Suresh talking about an abnormal spike in seismic activity that might be one of the effects of the force on a pregnant woman.

On Entry #21, Dr. Chandra Suresh experiences the full effect of the cataclysmic event while studying his pregnant subject.

And for math genius among us, here is Dr. Chandra Suresh’s calculations, on footage. I can’t decipher the calculations but the drawing at the end seems to relate to that force he was talking about.

So, my guess is Mohinder discovered these videos and somehow put him on a direct path with Samuel. I won’t be surprised if he is the baby that was born during that period in 1961, and is he caused the earthquake during his birth.

But why Samuel killed him is still a mystery.

Ravi Kapoor is listed as a guest star on episode 4.10 “Brother’s Keeper” so these videos might appear in that episode, when Sendhil Ramamurthy (as Mohinder Suresh) also returns to the scenes. Ravi Kapoor is best known for his role in “Crossing Jordan”, which Tim Kring had directed.

Adrian Pasdar is getting fired! At leas that’s the reveal that come from E! Online writer Kristin Dos Santos.  And this one has the makings of a nasty end.  Apparently, Adrian is pissed.

Adrian Pasdar’s Nathan Petrelli is the major character death happening on Heroes this season, and no, he wasn’t told he was getting fired, he learned about it from a script.

Rumor has it that Adrian will get paid through to the end of the season, so maybe Nathan is really not getting killed for good, at least until the season ends. But even so, none of this should surprise us (or Adrian). I have nothing but respect for the actor as he’s one of the cast who brings depth into his character, but Nathan’s storyline has gone down the drain since the writers thought of killing him last season and then putting him into Sylar. I mean, in all reality (HEROES reality, I mean, whatever that it), Nathan Petrelli is dead. Was dead since months ago. It’s only his mind (persona, essence, memories… whatever) that lives in Sylar’s body. How long can that last, really? Once Sylar gets his mind back from Matt Parkman, that’s the end of Nathan. He just can not exist anymore.

Of course, HEROES can resurrect him and re-make him into another character but… been there done that… he is not Tracy/Niki/Jessica. Adrian’s character also hasn’t grown much since two seasons ago. Nathan hasn’t progressed from being an insecure, selfish power-hungry politician into something better or worse. Most of the other characters have changed (even Hiro) but Nathan has remained essentially the same. And that can get old after four seasons. So, as sad as it is that Adrian is being let go, but it is time to bury Nathan Petrelli.

If you saw the trailer for next Monday’s episode “Shadowboxing” you might be wondering, as I am, how Mohinder fell into Samuel’s trap, and worse, what exactly can Samuel do? It’s just so unfortunate that Sylar (or really, Nathan Petrelli inside Sylar) is still separated from his body, otherwise Samuel would be no match for him and won’t take advantage of him too. My guess is that split keeps him from fully reaching his villain potential, and being scary enough to pit against Samuel. And it looks like Sylar still won’t get his full faculties in this episode.
