And to recap HEROES Season 3, plenty of stuff has happened out of last season’s story. Sylar had turned into a much bigger threat as he acquired more powers, including the ability to change into someone’s identity just by touching that person’s DNA. Now Senator Nathan Petrelli, with government backing and military support, had the great idea to round up everyone with powers into a secret facility and get rid of these “domestic terrorists”. He had almost succeeded if Claire hadn’t rescued her comrades. Oh, and did we tell you that Claire had a pass because she’s a Petrelli, and dad Noah was colluding with the operation? The head of Nathan’s operation – the Hunter, thought he can use Sylar to his advantage and faked Sylar’s death. But in the end, Sylar hunted the heroes down and killed Nathan! Angela wasn’t ready for Nathan to die. So at that time, it seemed like a good idea to have Matt transfer Nathan’s memory into Sylar, transforming the the killer into a senator.

As the heroes are so ready to start their lives anew, to repair broken relationships, go back to the ordinary, and to finally use their powers for good. They bid farewell to what they thought was a dead Sylar and scattered into anonymity. Except… you can’t expect someone’s personally to remain buried forever, and a fissure in Nathan’s memories began to form. Time will tell if the heroes are free, and that time is tonight.

  On top of that brewing trouble, there now appears a mysterious other group of powered people who have lived out their powers in the open. They call themselves the Carnival and they are ready to add people into their ranks. Are they evil or anything like the Company? The group is led by a charismatic leader named Samuel, an earthmover in many sense. His inner circle include a henchman speedster who is lethal with a knife, and a tattoo lady.

What happens tonight will determine if the heroes can go back to their lives before all the chaos brought about by the first solar eclipse that turned their worlds upside down.

Heroes – Season Three (DVD)and  Heroes: Season 3 [Blu-ray] will be released on September 1, 2009, and both are available for pre-order at Amazon.com.

The five-disc set will contain two volumes – Villains and Fugitives plus some behind-the-scenes and bonus features. As of today, there is nothing specific about the disc contents just yet, but I’m sure that will come out. Who knows it might be right before the San Diego Comic Con.  I’ll update this post once I get specifics.

Tonight, Heroes ends its season with a showdown between heroes, and someone’s going down! Claire Bennet vowed that she will find a way to get Sylar killed. Will she do it? Can she? Matt Parkman warned that Nathan Petrelli is gone forever. What does that mean?

The Canadian promo for Heroes season 3 finale reveals so much, so I need to warn you it’s full of spoilers!

Claire warns Sylar that he is going to die, but that only seem to provoke the pyscho-killer. Now an ‘epic battle’ pits Sylar against the Petrelli brothers… Angela Petrelli shouts a heartbreaking “NO!” and HRG mentions that “Nathan is gone forever.”

It’s the final showdown for Heroes! Next Monday, the final episode for the volume “Fugitives” pits the heroes against Sylar. Yet again! Sylar plans on becoming President and the Petrellis are bent on stopping him. The promo trailer showed Claire and Sylar sharing a moment, but that’s not gonna last once Sylar goes after Nathan and Peter. 

Meanwhile, Ando and Hiro are about to storm the Hunter’s lair in Building 26, and they’ll be surprised to find Mohinder victimized.

The photos below show a little bit of spoilers, so we can start talking about what might be going on.

Sylar against the Petrellis. Claire and Peter seek refuge in what looks like a hotel or a nice house, but Sylar is right behind them. Peter seems to have a cut above his eyes, so Sylar must have gotten to him. Did Claire stop Sylar from sawing off Peter’s head? A very frightened Claire closes the door to hide from Sylar, but that’s not really going to help is it?

Maybe, the last photo shows what I think is about to happen.

Who’s coming to the rescue? Matt, Nathan or Angela?

Raiding Building 26. Ando and Hiro get inside Building 26 attempting to bring down the Hunter. They find a roomful of surprise waiting for them! Ando and Hiro has just revive Mohinder, when someone (or something) startles them.

How will it end? The Hunter and HRG face off! The heroes look on as a something burns down. How will season 3 end? Greg Grunberg spoils that his character will do something “incredibly dark” that ends in someone’s death.

“It’s not expected. It’s pretty sick. Torture is involved. It’s someone we all know. It felt great to tap into my dark side."

So, it’s back to the Sylar Wars again. He’s hungry for power and he wants it all. Sylar is now hell-bent on becoming President, and the heroes must stop him. But how do you kill an immortal like Sylar? Arthur Petrelli would have come in handy, to absorb his powers. Oh, wait. Sylar already killed him.

And, it’s up to the Petrelli clan to stop a man like Sylar. But what can a flying man and power-copier/flying man do, really? Unless Peter absorbs Claire’s invisibility, or Claire gets the guts to fight another immortal like herself, the Petrellis are no match for the pyscho who has some serious self-esteem problems.

Meantime, there is still the Hunter, you know.  Who’s gonna stop him?

Heroes explodes with it’s pre-finale episode tonight when Sylar becomes Nathan Petrelli!

Also in the trailer below, Mohinder is struck down by agents, and Hiro and Ando find out where the post-humans are being held. But Ando gets the tazer! Nathan tries to right the wrong he’s started and Pete’s along for the ride. But Sylar uses his new shape-shifting abilities to transform into Nathan. Sylar is briefly seen cutting someone’s brains out. Is Nathan dead?!

Claire gets in on the action too, so what is she doing getting a toast with Sylar?

So many questions and thrills! Are you ready for tonight’s episode? Next on Heroes, episode 3×24 “I Am Sylar”.

Conspicuously missing from the “Heroes” cast were Zachary Quinto who is promoting Star Trek, and the two lead actresses Hayden Panettiere and Ali Larter.

The Heroes volume 4 finale is just around the corner… but can the heroes stop being fugitives?

Sylar is just freaking scary! No matter what he does, even when he became tamed in a possible future with his child Noah, Gabriel Gray will always be a Sylar.

In these promo images for the Heroes episode “I Am Sylar”, Nathan comes face to face with Sylar, and it’s a deja vu’ of a distant possible future we saw in past seasons… when Sylar shape-shifts to Nathan’s likeness and becomes President of the United States. (Aha! Sylar doesn’t even have to use Candice’ powers to become Nathan!)

So Sylar gets to Nathan… and Micah the Rebel! But will Danko stop Sylar dead? More pictures after the cut.
