It looks like Adrian Pasdar’s character on HEROES, Nathan Petrelli, isn’t just getting killed. We’ve heard “major character deaths” so many times in this show that we all know they come back sooner or later. At least those whose names are mentioned in the pre-episode credits. But it looks like that’s going to change soon.

Adrian Pasdar is getting fired! At leas that’s the reveal that come from E! Online writer Kristin Dos Santos. And this one has the makings of a nasty end. Apparently, Adrian is pissed.

Adrian Pasdar’s Nathan Petrelli is the major character death happening on Heroes this season, and no, he wasn’t told he was getting fired, he learned about it from a script.

Rumor has it that Adrian will get paid through to the end of the season, so maybe Nathan is really not getting killed for good, at least until the season ends. But even so, none of this should surprise us (or Adrian). I have nothing but respect for the actor as he’s one of the cast who brings depth into his character, but Nathan’s storyline has gone down the drain since the writers thought of killing him last season and then putting him into Sylar. I mean, in all reality (HEROES reality, I mean, whatever that it), Nathan Petrelli is dead. Was dead since months ago. It’s only his mind (persona, essence, memories… whatever) that lives in Sylar’s body. How long can that last, really? Once Sylar gets his mind back from Matt Parkman, that’s the end of Nathan. He just can not exist anymore.

Of course, HEROES can resurrect him and re-make him into another character but… been there done that… he is not Tracy/Niki/Jessica. Adrian’s character also hasn’t grown much since two seasons ago. Nathan hasn’t progressed from being an insecure, selfish power-hungry politician into something better or worse. Most of the other characters have changed (even Hiro) but Nathan has remained essentially the same. And that can get old after four seasons. So, as sad as it is that Adrian is being let go, but it is time to bury Nathan Petrelli.

You would not believe what this new episode contains! Wow. I posted previously that a leading male character will die on HEROES and Hiro’s terminal illness makes him the top, most likely candidate to be wiped out.
Well, duh. Hiro is wearing a hospital gown in this episode, so he must really be in bad shape.
But here’s another twist to all the spoiler – what if Tabula Rasa (meaning to blank slate) means someone will “die and then rise again” into a new life? Well, check these [...]
Post from: Superhero Profiles

I have to appreciate the HEROES writers for Hiro’s character. No matter how corny and lame his scenes (and the attempt on humor) sometimes are, there is one thing the writers have maintained with Hiro – he is untainted. Hiro has been the ideal, ultimate hero and the goodness of his character has been refreshing to watch.

The fourth season of “Heroes” is still months away, but NBC is already at work to keep us viewers in the loop of things to come. In fact, I finally signed up for “Heroes All Access” after reading about Tim Kring’s newsletter sent out to exclusive members where the creator spoiled details about the next volume “Redemption”!

So, according to Kring, “Redemption” is all about the characters returning to a normal life, after finally, getting rid of Sylar (or so they thought!). Some will attempt to go back to some normalcy, while others will embrace exposing their powers to the world.

Take Claire Bennet. She’ll be starting college in Washington DC so that’s some semblance, right? Well, Kring says not so, because the Bennet parents are splitting up! And then there’s a mysterious suicide on campus that puts Claire “in the crossfire”.

And then, Matt Parkman has his family now. A new baby, and maybe reconciling with Janice… except Matt is living with the guilt of what he did to Sylar, and that’s no way to start fresh.

And then, of course, Nathan Petrelli is trying to live his old life, except he’s not really Nathan! I wonder how Sylar breaks free of Matt’s mind power. Oooh, and can you imagine what Sylar will do to Matt once he finds out the truth? Now that should be early in the season, and let all hell break loose!

Oh, and golden-hearted Peter Petrelli embraces his heroism and saves lives! Wooohooo! Finally someone is able to use their powers for good. But I bet nothing that good lasts. Who is this “powerful woman” that gets attached to Peter? Can we please give this guy a chance at love?

Now wait.. what is that I read about a new Company? Headed by Noah Bennet with Tracy Strauss and Angela Petrelli, what a trifecta! There’s bound to be power-struggles at every turn. So is this a good company now, just “connecting with others who have powers”? It’s like the ISIS Foundation for meter-freaks from Smallville (ooops, sorry for the cross-over).

And there is another yet again covert organization that poses threat in a “potentially deadly way”. Sigh. Sometimes, I really just want the Heroes to start to have normal lives, and help save lives, man!

So are excited about the coming season?

Don’t even ask if one enjoyed Heroes tonight! NBC wasn’t kidding when the ad said it was CLASSIC. It was the BEST of the season, no question about it. Nothing defined good TV better than this episode. Humor, suspense, twists and a romance – episode 3.20 had it all.
So, what went down?

A Wheelbarrow and a Baby Bjorn

Hiro and Ando get a message from Rebel to save Matt Parkman the second. They get to Janice Parkman’s home in Los Angeles and finds the little toddler with powers of his own. The little babe can make toys and electronics run without being hooked to any source of power, earning him the moniker “Toddler Touch and Go”. Janice comes home and find little Matt with the new babysitters, who explain what the government really wants with her child. When agents barge into her house, Ando gets heroic and knocks an agent off with his amped powers. But the baby saves the day! Lil’ Matt touches Hiro and get him back his time-space control! Hiro stops time and that part of his world froze. But uh-oh, Hiro still can’t teleport himself and Ando away from the scene, so he does the funniest thing ever! Hiro carries Ando away from Janice house on a wheelbarrow!

Ice Queen Meets the Rebel

Tracy Strauss gets a message from Rebel to hang on tight. Rebel helps Tracy break out of the heat lamps by turning off electricity from Building 26. Tracy gets Matt, Daphne and Suresh awake from their stupor but she runs ahead when she learns that Daphne is wounded and could slow them down. Matt does his mind control and they walk out of the building like know one saw them.

HRG tracks Tracy to a department store and offers her a deal – lead him to Rebel and she can go free. Rebel helps Tracy withdraw money from an ATM and gives instructions for her to go to Union Station. And whatyaknow! Micah shows up! A little grown now and not so cute anymore, but that’s all cool. He’s perfect as Rebel!

Micah follows Tracy to Union Station and reveals his identity to her. Tracy is crushed!

She wouldn’t have taken HRG’s offer had she known it would me Micah. You’d have to love what Micah did – rub in the guilt trip! “My mom may be an ordinary American, but she was hero. You’re just a…. politician!” Oooh. That definitely worked. Just as agents traced them to a parking garage of station, Tracy laid out her cold snap routine like the Ice Queen never existed! She had Micah open all the sprinklers, told the kid to run ahead of the ice, and froze the whole garage like a mean ice storm even Tracy froze. Danko and HRG got there too late, and to spite Tracy, he pulls the trigger on her frozen body and shatters her to a million icicles. Ah, but did Danko see her eyes blink? She’s not dead yet, Hunter.

Fly Me to Paris or the Moon

Unfortunately, a true hero bit the dust tonight. Matt brought a wounded Daphne to the hospital and manages to get her a nice room under the name “Gwen Stefani” (they do look alike). Daphne wakes up to flowers, balloons and cards wishing her well. But she says goodbye to Matt, with a half-convincing lie that their relationship was just all in his head. Daphne is next seen somewhere in Paris, France and Matt shows up there as well! How’d he do it? He flew. How did she get there? She ran over water. And just like a classic Superman tale, Matt offers a grand view of Paris. Daphne places her feet over Matt’s and they float above the city of lights. The romance would have been perfect except Daphne asks Matt if he would really do anything for her, as he promised. “Let me go,” was her painful request. No regrets, Daphne knows this is all in his head. In reality, they are still in the hospital and Matt is just inside her head. A teary Matt admits he really only wants her to be happy, and she asks that he fly her to the moon. Just like the comics, he does. And then Daphne’s monitors beep, and she is lying in the hospital bed, dead in Matt’s arms. My congratulations to Brea Grant for bringing Daphne to life and making us fall in love with her.

Angela gets wet

Out in rainy Manhattan, HRG meets Angela in her car and warns her that he is about to turn her in, as a sacrificial lamb, to make the Hunter trust him more. She wants HRG to give Danko someone bigger than her, like the Rebel. With her future-telling powers, Angela is able to get one step ahead of the agents hunting her down. She gets into an elevator just as agents corner her. Peter swoops in and flies away with mommy!

The last scene shows Peter and Angela inside the head of the Statue of Liberty. Peter asks his mom” what do you want to do now?”

What’s next is episode 3.21 “Into Asylum” next Monday March 30, 2009.

The Hunter (Zeljko Ivanek) is capturing people with abilities and taking them to a special facility. Can anyone stop him? Can the heroes fight back?

In the new installment of Heroes, the volume “Fugitives” goes back into looking at the characters’ lives. Rejoining Heroes as consultant, Bryan Fuller adds that the series is going back to where it started: “Very clean, superhero metaphors to everyday life.
Bryan Fuller has finally rejoined "Heroes", and the writer-producer cum consultant is getting his feet wet from day one. He talked to EW’s Ausiello and revealed some interesting prescriptions on what it takes to get the show back on its feet.
According to Fuller, one of the best things about "Heroes" season 1 was a very clear vision of the metaphors for the heroes’ abilities. Unfortunately, those metaphors have gotten complicated in the past two seasons, the show became too dense and took the face off the drama. "I thought the "Villains" arc started out very interestingly, and then [...]
Post from: Superhero Profiles

He talked to EW’s Ausiello and revealed some interesting prescriptions on what it takes to get the show back on its feet.

According to Fuller, one of the best things about "Heroes" season 1 was a very clear vision of the metaphors for the heroes’ abilities. Unfortunately, those metaphors have gotten complicated in the past two seasons, the show became too dense and took the face off the drama. "I thought the "Villains" arc started out very interestingly, and then became sort of muddy and dense and I couldn’t get my hooks into the characters to understand their motivations."

The big question is, will the new Fugitives volume be any different? "It really is a fresh start…. We need to get back into a character place, because that’s where this story started: Very clean, superhero metaphors to everyday life. That’s the path that we’re taking."

What other changes can we expect for the next seasons of Heroes?

(SPOILERS from Fuller on the "Heroes Fugitives" after the cut.)

The interview with Ausiello revealed that changes are about to happen on the show and the cast.

All of the characters are back in their real lives. You see Peter as a paramedic. Claire is looking for colleges. We get away from the world of formulas and quasi-magic.

People will die.

Matt’s wife [Janice] comes back. We’ll find out what happens when you have a superbaby.

We’re also going to tell fewer stories per episode. We’re going to limit it to three or four with one big one that you can wrap the stories around.

Do you like where Bryan Fuller is taking the series? Is he the person to take Heroes back to its season one glory? What do you think?

But in the midst of all the chaos, romance is blooming with two couples.

Matt brings Hiro and Ando to Daphne’s home in Lawrence, Kansas to “woo" back Daphne. But as their abilities disappear, Daphne goes back to who she was before her powers – crippled. Meanwhile, Hiro and Ando journey to “where the wise man gather”, at the comic bookstore.

Elle and Sylar storm in to get Claire. Elle is about to shoot H.R.G when Claire steps in to block her dad and she gets shot. Without her powers, Claire continues to bleed.

The attraction between Elle and Sylar build up as they help each other, and oooh – a kiss – happens! So even without his powers, Sylar is still able to take what he wants. Unfortunately, someone else is watching the new lovebirds, and I’m guessing whatever happens next will get messy.
