NBC is on a roll! It’s only two days till HEROES so things are ramping up a little at the Peacock network. Of course, we’d love us some photos and sneak peeks too, but this spoilery summary is good.

HEROES volume 5, this time for episode 4.04 titled “Acceptance”:

THE HEROES ARE TRYING TO ASSIMILATE BACK INTO THEIR OLD LIVES — ROBERT KNEPPER, RAY PARK, BRUCE BOXLEITNER AND SWOOSIE KURTZ GUEST STAR — As Hiro’s (Masi Oka) life continues to hang in the balance, he distracts himself with saving the lives of others. Meanwhile, Angela (Cristine Rose) tries to help the new “Nathan” (Adrian Pasdar) remember his past, at the risk of his remembering too much. Elsewhere, Tracy (Ali Larter) is determined to get her old job back, but soon realizes that she needs to make more of an impact. Jack Coleman, James Kyson Lee, Zachary Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia also star. Ashley Crow, Saemi Nakamura and Dawn Olivieri also guest star.

So the heroes are trying to get back into their lives but the past is catching up to them. Hmmm. What Angela is doing is quite scary. I’m sure she’ll wake up the “sleeping giant” and if Sylar’s not conscious of where he is yet, it really won’t be long before he realizes he is not Nathan. Bad move, mama P.

Meanwhile, I wonder what Tracy will do to get her old life back. That woman is dangerous I tell you that. She is self-preservation with a capital S, and she often gets what she wants too. Well, especially now that she’s the ice queen.

And poor Hiro (Masi Oka). Do you think Hiro will die? I sure hope not. You know there’s been rumor that one of the cast wants out right? (Or has that been going around already). I can’t picture HEROES without Hiro. Maybe they will resurrect him, or find someone new with powers to heal him… Or wait, we have Claire to do that! CLAIRE, yoohoo!

Well, we only have to wait for two days and HEROES comes back, so we’ll know a little by Monday night!

There’s a new hero on HEROES, and she’s got Peter Petrelli’s (Milo Ventimiglia) complete attention!

HEROES released the summary for the next episode, so now we have more clues about where the series storylines are heading. It looks like Samuel, the Carnival’s leader (Robert Knepper) is intent on recapturing the memories of his dead brother Joseph. If the clips meant anything, Samuel would be exhuming his body to get inside the dead man’s head. I wonder who Joseph really is, and what role he played with the heroes. I’m guessing Angela Petrelli (Christine Rose) knew these people once.

Meanwhile, Peter meets a “reluctant hero” when his heroism leads to “unexpected consequences”.

Guest star Deanne Bray plays that new hero. The spoilerlines tell us she and Peter will have some connection – romantic maybe?

And, Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) secret is spilled – at least to her new roommate Gretchen (Madeline Zima). It would be a relief for Claire to have someone who knows her secret, you know. It’s not like Claire has anyone her age among the heroes anyway, so it would do her good to let someone in. Of course, spilling her secrets out could have dire consequences later too.

NEW MYSTERIES ARE UNEARTHED AS A RELUCTANT NEW HERO IS INTRODUCED – DEANNE BRAY, MADELINE ZIMA, DAWN OLIVIERI AND ACADEMY AWARD-WINNER LOUISE FLETCHER GUEST STAR – Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) faces unexpected consequences for his heroic acts and encounters a reluctant new hero (guest star Deanne Bray). As Claire (Hayden Panettiere) continues to adjust to college life, she must figure out how to deal with her ability having been revealed. Meanwhile, Samuel (Robert Knepper) moves heaven and earth to recapture the memories of his late brother Joseph. Elsewhere, Matt (Greg Grunberg) struggles with his internal demons as Sylar (Zachary Quinto) mysteriously resurfaces. Jack Coleman also stars. Assaf Cohen and Rick Worthy also guest star.

It’s what we’ve been waiting for folks! We finally get photos of the premiere episode of HEROES Volume 5 (Redemption). And I’ve got to show these in two parts – the heroes and the Carnival, because there’s just so many of them it’ll be hard to load.

And you better be prepared for plenty of great SPOILERS in these images….

It looks like Hiro (Masi Oka) is in a bad shape. Ando (James Kyson Lee) is pulling him on a gurney so Hiro is either too sick to move or he is immovable in some kind of shock or time-trance. Danko the Hunter (Zeljko Ivanek) is not doing too well, and Tracy Strauss (Ali Larter) is in trouble too. What a way to start the new season! But Claire (Hayden Panettiere) is hoping for a more normal life in college as daddy Noah Benned (Jack Coleman) says goodbye to his Claire-bear. Noah is back to his old game, only this time he’s running the new Company with Angela Petrelli (Christine Rose) and Tracy.

But is mama Angela seeing double? First minute she’s talking to her son Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) and the next minute he becomes Sylar (Zachary Quinto)!

Other celebrities also came to the event, including Amy Brenneman, Kate Flannery, Brooke Burns, Andrea Bowen, Michelle Collins, Alana Curry among others. Rainn Wilson emceed the auction-concert. Conspicuously missing from the “Heroes” cast were Zachary Quinto who is promoting Star Trek, and the two lead actresses Hayden Panettiere and Ali Larter.

You can feel it in the air as you watch “Heroes” that it’s off to a climactic finale. With only three episodes left, the heroes might have a fighting chance at surviving. But first Angela needs to make them understand something. So she reunited her family – Peter, Nathan and Claire – to this God-forsaken burned up deserted town… and had them start digging… 

Monday’s episode ended with the revelation that something awful has happened to this place, that people died and were buried here. To cover up something?

It was weird how things turned out for the Petrelli family! Who knew that Peter’s prayers were answered. Or that’s what we’re made to think of, as he and Angela made their way out of the church. At least Angel got to sleep, and dream, and now she knows what direction to take next.

Her directive: gather the remaining members of the Petrelli family – Peter, Nathan, Angela and Claire. How they will save themselves and others with abilities is yet unknown. But Angela is back, and the balance of power is going to be restored.

Here is the trailer for next Monday’s episode “Turn and Face the Strange”. It has very little spoiler, except for a hint when Angela refers to a rural area as where everything began.

1961 was the year that Primatech Papers (aka Company) was founded. Previous episodes from seasons back revealed how the founding members started out with high hopes of making a better place, but began to change course somewhere along the way.

The episode description for “1961” hints at the past coming back to haunt Angela. Interesting that the Petrelli’s present dilemma all comes back to the Company. What goes around comes around.

What spoilers await us in this episode?

• Bob Bishop returns, and his younger version is an awkward geek with a heart of gold, who by the way has powers of alchemy.
• A young Chandra Suresh is involved in some secret government research.
• A young Angela Petrelli did start out as “a dreamer looking to make the world a better place”.
• Angela’s younger sister, Wendy, is a spirited intelligent girl who worships her older sister. (Who from the hints of “Into Asylum” might has powers of her own too.

Angela Petrelli is one hell of a mom, isn’t she? There’s no doubt that she loves her children but she can have crazy ideas of raising them and getting them to their full potential as “people with power”. But now, she has dug a hole that’s too deep for them, as she herself admitted.

Peter asks her what they should do next, but Angela’s powers are useless these days. Thing is, she hasn’t been getting any sleep and so she can’t dream of her prophetic visions. So where does she go for help?

Angela finds refuge in a church, of all places. Who would have thought she was a religious person? As this NBC-Spring sneak peek reveals, she even had Peter hold his first communion there. Who knew?

Who’d ever think we’ll see Angela Petrelli in a church! Angela meets with Peter and “mend their relationship”. In the previous episode, Angela told her friend Millie how she only wants to dig her children out of the hole she created for them, and you wonder if she is sincere this time. Sometimes, you think she’s being such a good mother and then she surprises you by saving only her own skin.

Can Peter still trust her or does he know her enough to need her help only to a certain extent?

Don’t even ask if one enjoyed Heroes tonight! NBC wasn’t kidding when the ad said it was CLASSIC. It was the BEST of the season, no question about it. Nothing defined good TV better than this episode.  Humor, suspense, twists and a romance – episode 3.20 had it all. And the icing on the cake: everything fit together beautifully. Bryan Fuller wrote this ep, folks, and he brought down the house. Greg Yaitanes’ direction was excellent, and Grunny twitters it’s only getting better from hereon!

So, what went down?

A Wheelbarrow and a Baby Bjorn

Hiro and Ando get a message from Rebel to save Matt Parkman the second. They get to Janice Parkman’s home in Los Angeles and finds the little toddler with powers of his own. The little babe can make toys and electronics run without being hooked to any source of power, earning him the moniker “Toddler Touch and Go”. Janice comes home and find little Matt with the new babysitters, who explain what the government really wants with her child. When agents barge into her house, Ando gets heroic and knocks an agent off with his amped powers. But the baby saves the day! Lil’ Matt touches Hiro and get him back his time-space control! Hiro stops time and that part of his world froze.  But uh-oh, Hiro still can’t teleport himself and Ando away from the scene, so he does the funniest thing ever! Hiro carries Ando away from Janice house on a wheelbarrow! 

Ice Queen Meets the Rebel

Tracy Strauss gets a message from Rebel to hang on tight. Rebel helps Tracy break out of the heat lamps by turning off electricity from Building 26. Tracy gets Matt, Daphne and Suresh awake from their stupor but she runs ahead when she learns that Daphne is wounded and could slow them down. Matt does his mind control and they walk out of the building like know one saw them.

HRG tracks Tracy to a department store and offers her a deal – lead him to Rebel and she can go free. Rebel helps Tracy withdraw money from an ATM and gives instructions for her to go to Union Station. And whatyaknow! Micah shows up! A little grown now and not so cute anymore, but that’s all cool. He’s perfect as Rebel!

Micah follows Tracy to Union Station and reveals his identity to her. Tracy is crushed!

She wouldn’t have taken HRG’s offer had she known it would me Micah. You’d have to love what Micah did – rub in the guilt trip! “My mom may be an ordinary American, but she was hero. You’re just a…. politician!” Oooh. That definitely worked. Just as agents traced them to a parking garage of station, Tracy laid out her cold snap routine like the Ice Queen never existed! She had Micah open all the sprinklers, told the kid to run ahead of the ice, and froze the whole garage like a mean ice storm even Tracy froze. Danko and HRG got there too late, and to spite Tracy, he pulls the trigger on her frozen body and shatters her to a million icicles. Ah, but did Danko see her eyes blink? She’s not dead yet, Hunter.

Fly Me to Paris or the Moon

Unfortunately, a true hero bit the dust tonight. Matt brought a wounded Daphne to the hospital and manages to get her a nice room under the name “Gwen Stefani” (they do look alike). Daphne wakes up to flowers, balloons and cards wishing her well. But she says goodbye to Matt, with a half-convincing lie that their relationship was just all in his head. Daphne is next seen somewhere in Paris, France and Matt shows up there as well! How’d he do it? He flew. How did she get there? She ran over water. And just like a classic Superman tale, Matt offers a grand view of Paris. Daphne places her feet over Matt’s and they float above the city of lights. The romance would have been perfect except Daphne asks Matt if he would really do anything for her, as he promised. “Let me go,” was her painful request. No regrets, Daphne knows this is all in his head. In reality, they are still in the hospital and Matt is just inside her head. A teary Matt admits he really only wants her to be happy, and she asks that he fly her to the moon. Just like the comics, he does. And then Daphne’s monitors beep, and she is lying in the hospital bed, dead in Matt’s arms. My congratulations to Brea Grant for bringing Daphne to life and making us fall in love with her.

Angela gets wet

Out in rainy Manhattan, HRG meets Angela in her car and warns her that he is about to turn her in, as a sacrificial lamb, to make the Hunter trust him more. She wants HRG to give Danko someone bigger than her, like the Rebel. With her future-telling powers, Angela is able to get one step ahead of the agents hunting her down. She gets into an elevator just as agents corner her. Peter swoops in and flies away with mommy!

The last scene shows Peter and Angela inside the head of the Statue of Liberty. Peter asks his mom” what do you want to do now?”

What’s next is episode 3.21 “Into Asylum” next Monday March 30, 2009.
