Heroes All-Access Club Party at San Diego Comic Con

It’s like this. It was supposed to be just a line party before the “Heroes” panel at SDCC on Saturday, so fans get to have fun while waiting in line (get in – “line” party). Well, NBC heard about that and decided to get the fans a proper venue… and throw in some talent appearances in there too.

So, if you’re a Heroes All-Access fan and you haven’t heard the news yet, here’s the invite –

Just got through posting for 24 straight hours last Friday… and boy it was crazy! It’s addicting though, like adrenalin on a marathon when you’re about to cross the line.

We now have updates on Heroes, Smallville, Wanted and some other celeb news. There were no guest posts for this round of blog-off, but if you thought of submitting one, or want to in the future, email me and you’re more than welcome to do so anytime!

But man I didn’t realize that 24 25 posts would take up two pages of this blog. So here is a round-up of all twenty five posts.

b5media entertainment 24-hour Blog-a-thon!

WHEW! I made it to the finish line, with time to spare!

The Entertainment channel participated in a 24-hour blog-a-thon to raise funds for a worthy cause. We’re supporting the Actors Fund, a charity help performing arts and entertainment professionals in need.

So today I blogged once per hour on various superhero topics. I thought I was going to die from exhaustion but it was actually really fun! A little addicting too I admit. This was also good for Superhero Profiles since now I’ve got the latest and most updated news for Heroes, Smallville and most of the superhero/comic-based Summer movies like Wanted. Well, almost because I still didn’t get to Batman’s The Dark Knight. I’ll get to it next week, and in fact, have a cool give-away just for this film!

Anyway, have fun going through the June 20 collection of posts, and please do support the Actors Fund by donating here.

The Great Blog Off: guest posts and a contest

b5media has teamed up for a 24-hour blog-a-thon to support worthy causes.

The Entertainment channel will be supporting The Actor’s Fund, a charity that helps professionals in performing arts & entertainment when they are in need.

The Great b5media Blog Off will begin on June 20th at 12:01am EST (Superhero Profiles/Grace’s time zone) to celebrate the summer solstice, which hasn’t occurred on any date other than June 21st since 1975 – this year it lands on June 20th.

I will be posting fresh news at least once per hour for a full 24 hours, as will other writers from the b5media Business and Entertainment channels. You can read about the Business Channel Blog Off plans here.

How can you help?

You can support this great charity writing marathon in two ways: donate a post, or donate money.

Challenge: Link these celebs to superheroes

I’m in this challenge of a contest to link celebrities to superhero roles, something like a “six degrees of separation”.

Now, not just ANY celebrity, but only those that are in these shows – American Idol, Ugly Betty, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, and Disney movies.

So I thought it was a no-brainer. I mean, tell me an actor who hasn’t been involved in a superhero movie, or science fiction at best? There should be plenty, so doing this challenge would be quick. Well, it took me all night. But I took a shot at it…

Paula Abdul of American Idol has links to Smallville! Did you know that Alan Ritchson, who played Aquaman/Arthur Curry in Smallville, was an American Idol 3 contestant? Now if I can only find his audition video where he strip teased for Paula…

Even before Wysteria Lane, Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives was best known for playing “Lois” in “Lois and Clark: The Adventures of Superman“.

Known for stealing our hearts with her dancing and backstory is Jane Seymour of Dancing with the Stars. Years ago, she stole Christopher Reeve’s heart in his most romantic movie Somewhere in Time.

Kick-ass beauty Rebecca Romijn bared her femme fatal powers as Mystique in the X-men movie. She’s still a knock-out in her new role, only as the transgender Alexis Meade of Ugly Betty.

Easy enough eh? Here’s more. Disney’s Sky High is the high school for super-powered kids.

Donald Duck won’t be far behind. He is also known as Paperinik, Phantomias, Duck Avenger, Superduck, PK, Superdonald and Phantom Duck. You can’t get more heroic than that!

So, there you go. How did I do? If you know any other celebs in these shows that have been in superhero movies, give a shout!

A CALL OUT TO SUPERHERO FANS AND NON-FANS ALIKE!!!

This week only, I am opening the blog for GUEST POSTS!

We have this internal contest going at the Entertainment Channel and I NEED YOUR HELP. Share your thoughts and let your opinions and voices be heard by all.

For either HEROES, SMALLVILLE or other Superhero movies/TV series – send me any of the following things listed below and I’ll post it on on this blog:

Fan-made art, video, music, or poem (your own!)
Episode ideas (esp. for Heroes season 3 or Smallville rest of season)
What you would like to see in the next episodes or next season
Predictions about the next few episodes
Your own alternate ending to an episode
Your review of an episode Smallville season 7; Heroes season 2
Your review of a character

Even if you don’t watch Heroes or Smallville, you can submit too! Here’s how –

What if a character from your favorite show (e.g., Grey’s Anatomy, LOST, Prison Break, etc.) gets a superpower or unusual ability. What would it be? How would that change the episode or show’s direction?
What happens if a superhero (Superman, Batman, etc) or a Heroes/Smallville character visits your favorite show. Suggest a scene or episode idea.
Be creative!!!

To keep things fun and in order:

You can use an alias or your real name.
I will link your blog or website and a big “thank you {{HUG}}”.
Submission has to be post-worthy. Which means, it’s at least one short paragraph and have a content with substance. Videos have to be “embed”-able, and not just links.
You can submit as many times as you want.
Deadline for submissions – February 21 (12 noon EST).
I will publish all submissions but I reserve the right to combine comments/shorts into one post. Be assured I will love what you can contribute and acknowledge you.
I will post a summary list of all submissions on February 22 and link back again to your website/blog
